This is the second time I have bought this model, and both have had the ESC fail in flight. At least this time it didn't completely destroy the model.

Great model and flies exelent. The best edf so far. Modified it and get access to the battery from cockpit and using 4s 2700 mah. 45a esc. Flying time with different power setting is 14 min. Flaperon works fine and lower the landing/stall speed. But bee careful with slow speed turns.

I higly recomend this plane.

plane arrived well packed and in good condition.
assembled plane and plug in a 3s 1500ma battery with some minor surgery. plane flew well with hand launch take offs. landing gear was a waste of time.

use lots of expo and reduce rates.

this was my first edf and, for me, is a good trainer

gruss,
daniel

I recently bought this jet and I am very impressed with it. Like most EDF planes its not super fast but it is fast enough that it doesn't feel like it's ready to stall. It has a very good climb rate, handles light winds flies solid and steady and looks really good in the air. I have only flown it with the landing gear on so far but if it's this nice with them on I can't wait to fly it w/o them.

Part Three... I forgot to give this plane a rating. I have to write more because this system won't let you write short notes. The EPO material I must admit was good quality but that doesn't deter from the fact that this is a real lemon. And as I always say, "You can't polish a turd", if it's crap, that's exactly what it will always be. Keep smiling pilots... Big Al

Part TWO.... Well, after having an experienced friend have a go at flying this thing, he also lost control of it, "Most unstable plane I've flown" he said. Again, back with the glue gun. Removed wheels, added a bit more weight to the front of the plane, I took it out to try again. I'm not going to say 'and guess what' you probably already know the answer. I will give this heap of crap away to a guy who wants to try his hand at flying and wants something that he doesn't mind crashing, he will get exactly what he wants. I recommend not to buy this model, it is way underpowered, unstable and a complete waste of money. If you really want a Panther, (perhaps you should visit a zoo), or else go for the other brand, it is a grey coloured hand launch version and I think it may be produced by Dura-fly but don't quote me on that and give this Starmax one a real wide berth. But, if you really want to waste a hundred bucks, just send the money to me, I can use it to mend my bruised ego and put it towards buying something that may actually fly.

First time I took it out ^v^v^v crash. COG way out. Made some mods. added weight to the front, took it out again ^v^v^v^v crash. COG still way out. Read some reviews about same problems, moved up to a 2200 battery after modifying the fuselage to suit, COG moved to just behind the leading edge of the wing, took it out ^v^v^v^v^ you guessed it, crash, this time needing some substantial hot glue to put Humpty back together again. Will try again tomorrow after adding more weight to the front. Wished I had bought the F5 instead after seeing one in flight at the local park, goes great and appears to handle extremely well, may have to check it's reviews.
