FrSky D8R-XP 2.4Ghz Receiver

Sep 19, 2018

Using FrSky Taranis X9D
I bought it for use on multi-copter.
We used one more, but we bought it for spare because of high reception ratio and ease of use.

CH5-8

Dec 10, 2016

Guys, when I connect CH3-4 with jumper (Need just RSSI for FPV OSD), the other channels CH5-8 are for direct servo connection?
Many thanks for answer

I like this receiver; it works well. The only downside is that you cannot use 8 channels PPM without upgrading the firmware. And the upgrade requires an FrUSB-3 cable, plus a cable to match the FrUSB-3 to the receiver. Upgrading the firmware will give 27ms pulse width which will allow 8 channels.

Overall a good receiver. The RSSi and PPM options are excellent and work great. Simple binding process with a Taranis on D8 mode. Telemetry catches up instantly, however it doesn't work properly. The analog inputs on the Rx fluctuate quite a bit (some times up to a full volt!) and when I used a voltage divider to measure the voltage on my lipo's the reading where not consistent even after calibrating to my multimeters. I will try digital telemetry later and post my results. Still a nice receiver.

Blown away by these receivers, the peace of mind that comes with RSSI telemetry warnings (on both our Taranis and 9XR) alone is worth the cost of entry over other FrSky receivers such as the V8R7. For very little weight cost, I can monitor main battery voltage with the FBVS01 on simple fixed wing, and with just one cable can pull full telemetry data over the digital port in conjunction with my Naze32 FC's. There's a type of data redundancy in that my telemetry data, sent to my transmitter and set to audibly alert me in case of exceeded parameters, will alert me to a situation I didn't notice on my OSD, and otherwise wouldn't have, until after the crash :)
