Great fun! A real crowd pleaser!

Aug 17, 2019

Took this out to the lake with the kids and a couple of smaller boats. After letting the kids race their little boats for a pack or two, it put this guy in the water. We were giggling at 2/3 throttle

Fast but Flawed

Aug 03, 2019

Fun and fast but, every time we use it, it fills with water. I'm fairly certain that should not happen.

Great boat.

This is a excellent RC!
With proper care it is very durable and a ton of fun.
Absolutely perfect for kids or new to boats adults.
Boats need extra care, marine grease and oil on motor bearings. Also must completely remove water from stuffing tube.

Lot's of fun for money

Aug 27, 2018

This little boat packs a lot of fun into an inexpensive package. And boy is it fast! Had it running in Waquoit Bay on Cape Cod last week and it was doing major jumps off the small waves. Managed to turn it into a submarine on several occasions but it popped right back up for more. Also, self righting feature is great for the rougher water when I managed to flip it. Jumping around off the waves it also managed to draw the interest of the ospreys who mistook it for a jumping fish. ;-)
That having been said, I am marking it down on quality for a couple of reasons. First, the rudder servo gave out after about 8-10 runs spread out over a few days. I will try to replace with a better quality servo and should be fine. Second, the grub screw that holds the prop shaft on stripped even though I was using the included hex wrench. Now I have to figure out how to get it off in order to lubricate the prop shaft.
That is something that should be mentioned as well. Because of the high speed of the motor, the prop shaft must be greased every few runs or the bearing will freeze and the prop mount has been known to melt if not sufficiently lubricated.
So, overall a great little boat as long as you understand it will require some minor maintenance.

Great boat - might need a little help binding the transmitter and receiver.

May 07, 2017

Great little boat that is a ton of fun - I love the self-righting feature. If you have a problem with it binding with the transmitter, try this:

There is a bunch of wires zip-tied together and tucked up under the deck. I carefully tugged those out, unplugged the servo from the receiver/esc combo (the receiver and speed control are one unit in this boat), plugged it back in. I then carefully removed the clear heat shrink tubing from the motor wires (there are three of them, they are color coded - red goes with red, blue with blue, black with black), with an xacto knife (the heat shrink isn't needed, don't bother replacing it) and pulled each connector apart and then plugged them back in. It helped to remove the white plastic shroud over the motor to give you more space to do this - definitely put that shroud back in place, it keeps the wires and tubing from rubbing on the motor and getting damaged or cut. I then plugged the battery back in (fully charged of course, to remove that as a possible issue), turned on the radio and it finally paired - the pairing happened quickly, and both the green light on the transmitter will glow solid (no blinking) and so will the red LED on the ESC/Receiver combo - it will glow solid red, no blinking. The servo should also center itself, another good sign. Hope this helps some folks out there!

Ran about 20 batteries so far with no issues. It does take on about 1/4 cup of water in the hull sometimes but not every time. Out of the box it would turn left fine but not to the right to well. Move steering linkage to the inner most hole on the rudder and trimmed flashing off were rudder hits stop and it turns both directions great now. Really impressed with it overall.

Total disappointment. Chose this as my first boat and it arrived DOA. It took multiple attempts to get the TX/RX to bind and then after it did I got what you see in the video... What irks me most is I lost $20 by choosing this boat because HK will not reimburse my shipping total to get it back to them. They really should reimburse me because this is an extremely poor quality product and they are basically charging me $20 for them to prove it. Otherwise, I hope they choose to give me a complete refund or I will be really pissed!
