Packaging great, very sturdy box, had to be sent seperate to other items though so cant even order batteries with it. More postage! fuse just about all in on piece, leaving you to glue in rear upright and fit wing, prop etc. looks decent quality finish but..

rear tail section was WAY out of line (already pre-fitted in box) and no real way of straightening it as its a carbon boom with the rear section screwed in, had to cut the bracket off fuse twist the boom a bit and re-glue.

reccomended 1000mah 2s, really have to push them in and down the little hole, then you can really get them out again, silly. try 850mah.

maiden flight, COG all good, take off easy.. wind low and took it left down field about 30ft, turned back up field and the wing bracket snapped clean off! Now this might sound strange but planes dont fly great without wings. Needless to say the wing flapped down after the rest had already quickly went in nose first. snapped the prop and think its bent the shaft, wing now needs fixing on somehow as the bracket has snapped clean off.

looking at it now, the front locating lugs on the wing arnt really a great fit, they dont seat right in and must have pulled out on first bit of lift, so these need looking at.

how does it fly?..... no idea! i didnt even get a chance to find out.

i though, ahh nice little cheap slow flyer, maybe not.

The wing mount broke during the first flight...which in turn caused the prop to break as the plane ( minus the fluttering wing ) came down hose first. Used cut ends of zip ties through the wing mount bracket with packing tape...and some more packing tape here and there on the wing and body. Kind of a bummer to crash 15 feet into the first flight because the wing detaches.

And the CG's is terribly off. I stuffed everything as far forward as was possible and it was still tail heavy. This posed some problems in flight as pure elevator compensation is tricky at various speeds and attitudes.

Slow flight characteristics were not too impressive, sluggish and prone to stall.

My billed 1 is easier to trim and fly. I think it's nearly just as slow ( I haven't had them up at the same time to compare yet). The billed has a bigger top end for sure and it's just a better experience. I was looking for something to help my friends learn to fly...this is not it.

I'll try a Billerica 2 with flaps.

This was my first RC plane. Needless to say, I had some problems. This plane is not very forgiving; I stopped counting on how many props I broke. The canopy/wings do not have a very secure fitting. After a couple of crashes, the locking mechanism on the canopy/wings failed and required some rework to get it to stay in place. For a beginners, I would get something a little more crash durability.

Firstly the Foam is excellent and so are the wings and tailplane.

Check the shrink tubing on the carbon push rods the wire ends to the servo arms can be loose in the shrink tube.

The servos don't centre this has been noticed on two separate gumby's

Replace with HXT900's don't know why HK don't use HXT900's in the first place. These are cheap and very reliable.

Throw away the dreadfully unbalanced prop. Use APC slow fly.

Don't use a 1000 battery doesn't fit without surgery.

use 800 batt.(shown in combo deal above)

The Major point is set CG 100mm from leading edge. good old rule CG is at 33 of MAC (mean average chord) need some lead attached to motor mount to acheive this.

This is a very nice trainer / park model for the experienced and beginner pilots.

It flies very quiet and is easy to setup. It will not handle wind very much so I recommend to fly in calm weather. (no wind)

The building was put together in about an hour.

I give it 5 stars easily

Recommended for those who want to have something that flies calm and relaxed:)
