The download link for the software does not work any longer, and I can't find any mirror or backup of this online. There was no driver with the product when I ordered either, so I can't use this product :/

Where is the link to download the software / driver ?
Hextronix.com is just a logo face . nothing in it .

I just installed the software on Windows 7. Windows 7 did a troubleshoot asked that I download prolific driver installer version 1210 which I did. This has a windows versions in both 32 and 64 bit. After I got that installed everything worked fine with my Windows 7 64 bit.

You can google PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v130.zip and download the file. You, of course, still need thr hextronix software.

But it does work on windows 7 and I would guess on Vista.

Excellent product. Easy to program. I had some problems with USB drivers in Windows 7... error code: "Runtime error 8020. Error reading comm device". The solution: download the last driver from Prolific web site: http://www.prolific.com.tw/support/files/\IO Cable\PL-2303\Drivers - Generic\Windows\allinone\PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v130.zip
