Solid Plug-n-Play system. Used it on a scratch built HE-162 foamie, about 35 inches in wingspan and length, probably 20 or so ounces, ran it on a 3S 2100 mah, and works great. Very simple to setup, no issues with imbalance or overheating. Good power, 10 minute flights with that setup and reasonable throttle use. Definitely recommend.

Overall I have been very happy with this power unit. I have a video posted, FMS Mirage 4000. I used this EDF unit, but put the 45amp ESC in another plane and used a Turnigy 60amp Plush for use with this EDF, as I thought that would be better than the 45amp. This is my first EDF plane, but the motor/fan has plenty of power, and vertical climbs are no problem at all. I don't know if vertical is "unlimited" or not, but I cut power to bring it back down before it gets too small in view, and the climb to that point is very fast with plenty of authority (again, you can check video which shows lots of verticals). My plane has a flying weight of 1050 grams. Also, even though this is not a 10-12 blade fan, it still makes a cool "whoosh" sound that I love. In my opinion, for this price, getting a motor, fan, and ESC of this quality is really a bargain as others have said. Can recommend it easily.

I have a pair of these fitted to a GreenAir Designs Avro Vulcan of 60" wingspan. These give more than ample thrust on 4s but I did find the ESC's were both quite hot to the touch hence the 4 stars. All in all a good setup though for those on a budget. The fans are in a decent state of balance as bought and no doubt i'll be getting some more for future builds. the link to the maiden flight is here: http://greenairdesigns.com/gadejcforum/index.php?topic=286.msg4285#new

Muy buen combo. Compre 2 para mi biturbina Canberra MK62 de 1,9mts y 4 kilos de peso. Tiran de maravilla y consumen muy poco. Muy recomndables.

Bought this fan for 2 years ago and have it mounted on a self-fan model. Has worked perfectly without any form of imbalance and other problems apart from the regulator that burned up the first trip, but since it's so expensive to send this back in the mail I ordered a new one from Hobbyking.Works well in cold weather too!

Well worth the money!

I bought this for my LX single 70mm F-22 project, after a lot of homework. I wanted to keep the weight down and preserve the existing CoG while improving thrust. This one fit the bill perfectly. Smoothly balanced fan sounds great, thrust is tremendous (Pretty much 1-1 on the Raptor) and the ESC is staying cool on 4S 2200. Additionally, it was a true drop-in fit with no modifications at all.

The only negative was that mine arrived with a cracked plastic spinner. Luckily my F-22 came with a 70mm fan of its own, and that fan had a perfectly matching spinner that I was able to port over. Other than that, this one is near-perfect. Definitely can't beat it for the price no matter where you look. I'm only two flights in on this one, so I can't say how long it will last, but so far, so good!

great price on the system ,fan seem balance even wall are thin, esc would work better with a heat sink, very powerful-will test in 5s with low capacity
