Print incredible structures and 3D projects with HobbyKing's own range of PLA filament. If you're new to using PLA, you'll find it easier to print thanks to having a lower melting point.

One of the most important features is that PLA is non-toxic with an extremely high printing resolution. . PLA has a low shrinkage rate and is very rigid with minimal flex. While PLA is considered stronger than ABS it is more susceptible to cracking when subjected to flexing, therefore you will need to consider if the filament is right for the mechanical needs of the print project.

A great material for 3D printing, PLA can be printed without the use of a heat bead and can stick to glass or a PCB plate using a binder such as hairspray or white glue. These simple binding agents will help achieve a curl free print.

3D printing is a fun and exciting hobby with a wide range of uses from prototyping parts to making toys for the kids. Picking the right filament for your application is very important. HobbyKing filaments have a stable melting point, good round shape and most importantly a 0.05mm uniform diameter tolerance for a consistent flow rate.

Prints OK, inconvenient spool size

The label on my boxes was different then what I saw on the website, it says "basic" PLA on the box, and the box is brown, just like the cheaper HK Filaments.
I use it on a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon with an AMS to print up to 4 different filaments.
The spool is too wide to fit in there, so I had to respool it

I bought this simply to set up my new printer. Calibration cubes, overhang and stringing tests, etc.
One might have to be careful buying filament at clearance prices, but that wasn't the case with this HobbyKing Premium PLA.
I would definitely buy more if it comes back in stock.
It is capable of printing smooth, accurate prints at moderate speeds; but also doesn't mind the speed being bumped up past 100mm/s
It sometimes has a matt finish, sometimes has a bit of a shine to it.
The nozzle temperature setting didn't seem to be critcial. I just used it in the middle of the recommended setting- 205c
Layer adhesion was perfect. Bed adhesion was fine so long as perfectly levelled and perfectly clean.
