Envergadura: 750mm (29.5in)

Nice plane. Not for beginners. Flying is elegant. The painting is of poor quality and will leave residues on the hands. Two improvements: change one or two of the magnets that hold the cockpit by other more powerful and use battery 1000mah 3 cells. You'll have extra time and power and is easier to put the CG in position (very important). Program a "dual rate" for the gas in your radio to avoid blowing the motor or ESC. Use dual rate in all controls: it is very sensitive.

Just a quicky,

I've done 3 flights so far, all quite succesful. Clear sunny day in light winds.
As it is a very small plane, winds should be minimal, but she handles well.
Indicated cg of 150-155 from front of plane requires a heavy battery. With a flying weight of 320gr and cg at 150 she is still tailheavy, requires 15 to 20 gr of lead on the nose. (Included in fly.wgt)

Motor is adequate with 7x6 prop, but not overly powerful.

She lands nice and slow on grass with very little effort. Sails well too, and tracks solidly through the air. Stall behaviour in level flight is very predictable, nose down with tendency to slightly tip over whichever wing has the highest AOA.

Flight time approx 6 minutes with 1000mAh leaves enough safety juice in your lipos unless youre constantly flying WOT.

Minuspoints for the paintjob, paint comes off very easily, the lack of an included paper manual, and the default weight distribution.

If you fly it well prepared, trimmed and balanced you should have some nice flights.

I consider this model, as specified, to be underpowered and incorrectly balanced. A 61gm 2 cell Lipo drew only about 6A and produced only 42watts - about half of what is needed for a modell like this. A 3S/500 gave over 80watts and a (near enough) correct balance point. So that's what I am using. I sliced the top off the battery compartment and hollowed it out as necessary. I glued it to the cannopy section to make a long hatch with a ply tongue at the front and an additional magnet at the rear. I covered the mating surfaces with thin card. I've also fitted a wire skid/prop saver on the nose.
The elevator hinge was too stiff and needed to be abraded and sealed to get a nice floppy movement. The aileron servos were not centred and had to be prized out, re-set and glued back. The elevator push rod was 10mm too short.
The small tube of glue must be for fixing the rudder and tailplane - which, I would say, is essential. Oh, and the paint is already flaking off. I usually cover my foamies with tissue which gives a good basis for a paint finish and I may end up doing it for this one.
I'm waiting for a chance to try it out. I think it will be OK. I'm posting this now so that potential buyers wiill know what to expect. Bit of a pity, really. I think there's the makings of a good little number here.

Wow I must say for the price this little thing is great! All I had to do was reduce the elevator throws to 75pcnt and put the ailerons on 100pcnt and put the push rod on the top control horn hole! same with the elevator, I also cut this thin piece of foam inside the battery slot and I put a lead 10g weight at the front and the cg was perfect with the recommended battery and it flies lovely well done HK!

I like this plane so much that I bought a second one when the first had to finally be put out of its misery (after so many flights I lost count). A few pointersuse a 3S, not a 2S. Stock ESC can handle 3S, and the plane does not fly worth a darn on 2S. Balance is critical. Balance the plane upside down on the circles on the top of the wing. You can cut through the front of the battery compartment so the battery slides forward a little more. If you experience uncontrolled flight (snap rolls on launch), your C of G is too far aft or your control throws are excessive (or both).
I've made some mods to mine and it is a blast to fly. Look in the FILES tab for an image I loaded called "cross section with notes" and you'll find a little more info.
Click the green "Like it?" button if you find my info helpful.

Happy flying!

Build quality and detail of this model is very good for the price, but I couldn't get it to fly . I have been building and flying parkflyers for over 10 years so I am by no means an inexperienced pilot (I currently own 3 other HK models), but I was unable to keep this plane in the air for more than 10 seconds at a time. After 3 or 4 hours trying, I eventually ran out of props after breaking the 12th and gave up with it. By this time the plane was pretty beaten up, so I recovered the hardware from the wreckage and tossed what remained into the bin. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Final on this product.
I really don't know what you have to do to fly this thing and despite not wanting to give it a poor rating, I can do little else given that I probably got no more than 20secs flying in it before it hit the deck for the final time.
My honest advice for anyone wishing to purchase one is look for something else.

Dave

continuing...

I've fitted an AR600 which is tiny and it took a few mins to decide where I could fit it given the space proprovided.

Since had another look at the screw covers under the wing and they DO snap down but need a fair bit of force. They should stay closed anyway!

The video review says they take up to 1000mAh 2S batteries so I bought 2 Zippy 1000mAh 2S batteries from HK to go with 2 Overlanders I already have. They DO fit snugly into the compartment in the nose and shouldn't move once in place.

The wind is still too high here for a maiden so I'll report back when the first one is out of the way;-) Hopefully.. I'll be able to give it a full rating then.

Regards

Dave

Initial report:

On opening the box, all parts were found to be well secured. Pulled the fuse out of it's bubblewrap and found the motor to be off-centre a little but this may be down to prop torque. We'll see when it first flies!

Pulled off the canopy and 2 of the 5 washers glued to it were stuck to the magnets fitted to the fuse. No big deal.. they're gluing with epoxy as I type.

There are no instructions with the model and no files at HK as far as I can see but you don't really need them.

The wings (1 piece) screw nicely to the fuse using 2 nylon screws provided although the screw heads seem to big to allow the covers to be closed. Not sure what I'm going to do about this yet. Rear wing securing lugs are tiny. Will have to see if they're up to the job.

To install the horizontal stab/elevator, a blank needs to be cut out to allow the stab to reach it's flying position (2 secs with a modelling knife) then the non-functioning rudder is pushed in place. The instructions above state that no glue is required but I'd not want to risk push fitting the rudder into place and expecting it to stay there. The paint is very flaky and shiny and I'm sure the rudder would part company without glue. I've glued mine anyway.

Space in the fuse for a receiver isn't at a premium. I've fitted an AR600 which is tiny and it took a few mins to decide where I could fit it given the space pro

very poor!
the decals were broken, teh yellow color was Peeling and the worst:
the plane was not flyable, it always rolls to the left and then crashes. The Overall Quality is very poor

in Deutsch:
Sehr schlechte Qualitt!!!
