Reliable with a very solid shaft

A great motor. No wonder they are out of stock so often. The low kv has plenty of grunt. Have always chosen this when needing an impressive power source. Well worth keeping one handy.

This motor lasted one flight. 3s 11x5.5 had plenty of thrust, but any rough landing and the motor mounts bend/break. The mounts are made of cheap pot metal and are far inferior than the basic turnigy xps.

A nice sturdy low profile motor with plenty of torque and thrust. Also, it has a sturdy 5mm thick shaft which is approximately 18mm long. Furthermore, the four mount legs are made of sturdy 3mm thick alloy metal with 3.5mm bolt holes. I purchased this for the ... Cloud Dancer Trainer Balsa Laser Cut Airplane Kit 1300mm (KIT) PRODUCT ID: 099000030 ... ,which I also purchased, so as to give it adequate thrust for pulling out of unexpected flight situations.

more than i expected: light weight, no radial play, smooth running, low unloaded heat build-up, manually balanced bell (not perfect but good enough)

Multiplex - Gemini: fits well at structure of motor mount (without motor mount), I had to dremel out two of the four aluminium structure of the motor in order to fit inside nose, but it is rock solid after some glue to tread lock even with only two screws.
It is working at Plush Turnig 40 amp ESC; 3S 2200MAh; 11x7 APC. Flying like a dream, slow and strong, never got beyond 29 Amp, Fly about 8 mim and need some tail weight if I want to 3D.
Waiting those 4S arrive to test how better it gets, bring you news soon.

Using this motor on a converted-from-glow Debolt Champion (595 in. squared wing area). 1300mah to 2200mah 4s packs. Getting good flight times with the 1300. Makes good short takeoff power with 10-5 prop. Stays cool even with full speed, full capacity run on ground (flight time test). Excellent performance using 40A ESC. A most satisfactory combination. Bonus: available from USA warehouse.

UPDATE: I stand by my earlier assessment that these are great motors for a multicopter; however, I have discovered now that the motor mount tabs do indeed break easily in a crash landing.

Perhaps, though, this is better than bending your frame.

All I can say is WOW! I bought this motor for a new quadcopter I built from scratch and, with a little work and forethought, they work unbelievably well.

After I ordered these motors, I saw some YouTube videos in which people said not to use the Donkey series for multicopters because they vibrate too much. Based on that information, I used bonded neoprene washers between the motor mounts and the frame. This must have killed any vibration because they run as smooth as silk.

One thing to note is that you need to order a 5mm-to-5mm prop adapter as the shaft on this motor is a thick 5mm. I personally had a little trouble getting my prop adapter to stay on the shaft, but it was nothing a Dremel tool and some thread locker couldn't fix.

Thanks to the sturdy construction, it is almost impossible to bend the shaft or bell, and you would have a hard time breaking the mounts. Many of the motors I have used in the past just can not withstand multi-rotor crashes. With the Donkey motors, however, it is like the crash didn't even happen.

Here is my configuration:

- Donkey 730Kv
- 30A ESC
- 10X4.5 props (balanced by hand)
- HobbyKing Multi-Rotor Control Board (KK Board) v2.1

This thing takes off like a rocket and flies like a jet and I have to believe that the Donkey's are a major factor. I am even confident enough in this set up to attempt loops and rolls the next time I get to
