Overall this is a good value if you can make it through.

Pros:
Once I got it working.. a great and affordable and durable introduction to multiwii.
The smallest and cheapest quad I found that I could customize the flight controller on.
The OrangeRx DSM module for Turnigy does work well with its RX, and let's you use any transmitter with PWM out (mine is a turnigy 6x fhss)

Cons:
Was more DIY than PNF. Like, it arrived with no bootloader. And I found no multiwii code or settings provided by HobbyKing, only ones that guys on the forums put together.
I like that I can, but I did not like that I /had/ to customize the Arduino code, several times: to bind the rx (since I had no normal orangerx), to remap pitch/roll/yaw/throttle and raise min_command PWM so it would arm (since my TX is not programmable).

Neat little quad, easy to assemble, easy to program multiwii 2.1 works best.

flies great fun quad pull out of you shirt pocket throw it in the air and start flying.

Awsome little bugger for indoor fun during cold winters.

If you have Turnigy 9XR Transmitter with FrSky DJT 2.4Ghz Combo Pack for JR module and do not want to mess with the DSM2 stuff, then you only need to grab the tiniest FrSky 5ch RX (Product ID: 236000002, FrSky VD5M 2.4Ghz 5CH Micro Receiver) and Product ID: MOL125F-LEAD, Micro Servo Connector Lead 1.25 Pitch - Female Plug (5pcs/bag).



You may also want to grab some green props to have up front for better orientation. You need both side rotations: Product ID: 9329000194-0, 45mmR Pocket-Quad Prop Right Hand Rotation - green (5pc); Product ID: 9329000193-0, 45mm Pocket-Quad Prop - green (5pc). Really fun. I bought it to dip my toes into multiwii, and I really like flying it, and customizing the firmware. I usually fly the cesco 8kHz FW, with some personal modifications. Mine was shipped without a bootloader, which is annoying, but it's DIY after all. It's also nearly indestructible. I've flown it straight into concrete at full speed form 25 feet up while trying to do a flip. Pushed the motor back in, and took off.

Frustrating to get set up?....yes....
Almost total lack of instructions?...yes

Worth the money?....yes...yes....yes.

I'm into all disciplines of rc and this was my first venture into
multi rotors. The fun and satisfaction of getting this thing flying
has to be the most pleasure per of anything available to us modellers.

Nice little bugger to have for winter. Should be sold without the stupid DSM2 RX though. Very nice Quad, i love it! Very stabel with the firmware you can download in the register files: "Goebish build dsm2 1024 multiwii 2.3". Due to the light weight very durable. Crashed it several times and nothing happend!!!

If you can overcome the difficulties, this product is excellent.
I had to flash the bootloader, then the binding firmware, and then multiwii 2.3
Buy a couple of extra motors and proppelers. The other parts seem indestructible. I'm looking for these micro headers to make some more batteries. The flight time is about 5 min.
