Great airplane for the price. My setup is SK3 3548-1050kv, ESC HK60 and Zyppy 2,7A. It has some issues which make it quite delicate in rough landings. The landing bar attachment needs to be reinforced, otherwise it will break off just on light bumps, and so will the rear wheel (I replaced it with a carbon skid glued to the fuselage). In addition, the stabilizator needs to reinforced, I used two 3mm carbon bars, similarly to a bf-109-e's tail layout. If not, the whole tail will wiggle too much with the prop wash. After all these small fixes and on this set-up the plane becomes a real cat in the sky!!

I could not get the control surfaces to glue into the elevator, rudder, and wings using regular CA. I also could not get the tail to glue to the fuselage using regular CA. CA is what's recommended by the manual. I was not pleased with this airplane and discarded it because I can't trust something where the glue may not be getting a good bond.

This plane took me about 4 hours to build. I had the Aerobeez Sbach, which appears to be made in the same place, same hybrid ply/epp construction. The stab did not sit level when mounted and the elevator halves did not match up, (be sure to put the elevator in place BEFORE mounting the stab!!).

It flies great. Slow but very responsive. Excellent for learning 3D. Balanced perfect using a 3S 2200 lipo. 1000kv motor and 13X6e prop.

I may buy a second one. Great product overall.

This is a flop of a design. Although you can fix the bad tail wheel, reinforce the flimsy frame and mess with the CG, you may as well spend a little more and get the nicer HK edge pep and balsa plane. Not a terrible plane but there are better options from HK to choose.

I have purchased and built many HK planes. Since they have many suppliers the kit quality, design, shipping, instructions etc vary greatly. This is one of the best I have received out of all. It was well constructed, thoughtfully designed and even the instructions where helpful. I fly it next week and expect to be well pleased. If not I will update this post. To answer a couple of question: at this price don't worry about spares, buy another. All my wide but short length 4S batteries are fine. Only a couple of the long older style don't get past the bulk head without some modification. It also needs the 4S size to balance!

received mine in good shape, no damage. pretty easy build. used a turnigy 3548 790kv, 2200 4 cell batt and 4 hk white 9g servos. as cheap as i could make it. this yak is fun to fly! will knife edge all day long and not hard to hover. only weak spots i could see was the landing gear construction and the fuse tail area. all in all a good value for the money.

I love this plane! It's great for practicing 3D flying. I think the ailerons should have been a bit bigger to get a little higher roll rate.. The elevator stab was a little bit off on mine that is causing me to have to trim the rudder just a bit. I can fix it by cutting out a little bit of foam to get it strait, but i haven't done it yet. My setup is NTM Prop Drive 35-48 Series 900KV,Turnigy XGD-10HM 2.2kg / 10g / 0.12 servos (PRODUCT ID: 9378000002) I am going to put in a bigger servo for the rudder because it is having problems when I'm taxing on the ground because it isn't quite strong enough. Hobby King 60A ESC 4A UBEC (PRODUCT ID: F-60A) and 3000mah 3cell LiPo. The plane is a copy of the VM Acrobatics Yak that is costing about 150 USD..Only the colour sceme is different on this one.. Anybody that want to get into the 3D class, this is the way to go!
