Hornby Flying Scotsman OO Gauge Train Set DCC Ready (UK plug)

Hornby Railways is a British model railway brand that dates back to the early 1900's. Over this time it has become a household name and has consistently made high quality and highly detailed model railway products for beginners and the serious model enthusiast.

The most famous locomotive and train in the World features in this superb Hornby train set. The striking apple green liveried class DCC ready A1 “Flying Scotsman” in OO gauge helps to recreate those wonderful days of train travel in the 1930s when the two great railway rivals, LNER and the LMS vied for the lucrative passenger traffic between London and Scotland. To complete the train are a pair of composite "Teak" coaches and a matching "Teak" brake coach which were typical of the type used on the LNER during this period.

This is the perfect set to start your journey into model railways. The track circuit in this set can be extended to fully complete the included MidiMat layout using additional track and accessory packs thus creating an exciting and fully functioning model railway. The MidiMat is the ideal base for your layout, it provides a colorful finish to your baseboard and shows you where to lay the track. It also shows you where to add buildings and accessories when you wish to extend your layout.

This locomotive is DCC (Digital Command Control) ready which means it is ready to accept a DCC decoder without any complicated wiring. To run a DCC system this will require the purchase of a DCC controller and decoders etc. The system supplied with this train set is the simple to use standard analogue DC controller with transformer.
