Given the criteria this motor is certainly 5 stars... the only thing that must be addressed is cooling.

Motor is very powerful and an excellent upgrade for brushed 280 motors. I used one in a Jivaro Jaguar, (a small balsa sport plane). The AUW is around 300-400g.

My setup uses a 5x5 prop with a 2S 1000mah Li-po and 18a esc. The system runs smoothly and gives out enough power for accelerated vertical climbs and hot fly-by's. Get about 10mins flying time doing normal sport flying. However cooling is paramount...

I don't think the heat sink is big enough but there are ways around this, either use a ram-air intake at the front of the plane and an outlet 3x the size near the rear on the top of the plane to suck the air out. Ensure the air has a clear path and remember components inside the plane add to total drag. This should keep the motor cool and increase the efficiency. I may also try a 4.5" prop to reduce the current pull, there should still be plenty of usable power, possibly more even, if the motor runs cooler than before.

Great wee motor!

I purchased this motor for a Duratrax Vedetta SC. I am very impressed. I wanted faster than stock but not with insane speed. This motor is right on the money. I paired it with the Trackstar 18A esc and 2S 1800 Lipo from Turnigy. Excellent combo. I have not timed the run time yet but will and then update.

Got this motor years ago, try to find to use it recently and test it with a fix 5"x4" propeller came with the Easystar here is the static data.

I use a Turnigy 800mA 20-30C to match for a small plane application.

2A 80g thrust

4A 139g thrust

6A 173g thrust

8A 214g thrust 60W @7.36V

10A 244g thrust 71W @7v

10.8A 260 g thrust 74W (max)

I fedd the data to the Himax Calculator with a generic 5"x4" prop the calcelated data are

Io=0.52A 7V 3500kv 5"x4" 92.9km/h thrust=270g efficiency=62 Power In=76.6w Power Out=45.4w

I guss it is very close to my static result.

But motor is getting hot. Not sure how long it will last in flight ?

I have bought 2 of these motors and they do not appear to be able to handle 3s 1000mAh lipos. Both motors burnt out after about 5 minutes flying time with an Electrafun fitted with a 6.5x4 prop. I have just ordered a HXT2835-2700 which I hope can handle the 3s battery

11oz sport plane / 3s-1000mAh 30c Zippy. With a 4.1x4.1 it pulls the plane around with authority at about 16a static WOT. Without cooling motor does get a bit hot (57c) but with adequate ventilation only warm to the touch after a flight.

On initial bench testing when she did get hot the glue securing the front end-plate softened allowing it to turn in the housing. Because of this I pinned the plate in 3 spots, all is fine now.

Very good motor came with female bullet connectors and male with a great case with a heat sink built into it. Although listed as a 2mm shaft it's actually a 2.3mm if you want to use a gear drive. Put on a Electrifly Yak 55 EP and flies great on a 11x6 with 5.3:1 gear ratio on a 3s lipo.

Ran this motor on Rhino 3s1250mAH and a APC 4.75x4.75 prop on a Slipso 400. Current drawn is 16A and motor is hot after 20s WOT. Flight is zippy and the plane glides around at 1/3 throttle.

Unfortunately I got carried away and burnt the motor after running WOT for >60s . Will definitely get another!

Incredible motor, with a rhino 610mA,and a18A,ESC,shoots my mini slinger, like a rocket,to the sky. Economical also (over 10min flight) with some good throttle.

Lasts till now after one and a half month of too much hard work.

This motor works very good. I use a 5x3 Prop and everything works fine. But with an 4x4.75 the motor becomes extremely hot.
