Great if you're going to fly helis, but it is a bit of a gimick on fix wing IMO. I fly FPV and this just provides me with interesting but useless information about prop speed. What you really need is airspeed and amp draw which you can get from the other eagletree expanders.

The magnets are easy to mount. I use a drill and heat shrink tubing.

this installed on my HK450 to check the head speed, There is a spot on the main gear for the magnets already. it works great and I am going to buy more because i am leaving it on the heli full time. thanks

Nice and cheap :) Could wish for high flexibility silicone wires but its not up to HK but Eagletree.

It needs some good placement and secure fixing, but it will give better reading results than the rpm brushless sensor i had previously.

Make sure that the gap between the magnet and the sensor doesn't exceed 2mm!

Works perfect with the V3 elogger.

1 point less due to handling:

- Hall probe and magnet have to be within about 2 mm diameter.

- hall probe has to be mounted with the flat side (see picture) directed towards the magnet. That is the shrinking tube of the probe and the cable both have to be near the rotating structure. Especially a bit a problem if the magnets are glued into the corresponding holes of TRex main gears.

Positive: most direct (reliable) measurement of rpm.

I use this to get rpm info on everything except electric helis. With them, i prefer the brushless motor sensor, which is easier to install on any number of helis.
