Put this kit together with a 10 blade alloy unit on 1100 3s. Currently my favourite model - great handling (for a warbird) and sporty performance.
A couple of areas for improvement: the wing is VERY weak at the servo location, that foam is just too thin to bear up to any kind of botched landing. A 3mm carbon spar helps heaps. Most of these models suffer from distorted flight surfaces, so it gives it sweet arrow-straight lines.
I modified the cockpit/battery housing to sit vertically down into the intake duct (like the real planes) by building a fairing to sit behind the supplied intake splitter - don't worry there is plenty of intake area to play with. As I was doing this I discovered an 8 gram lump of steel rod in the foam ahead of the cockpit! By moving the (vertical) battery to the front of the existing tray I could dispense with the dead-weight and retain the recommended CoG.

A little heavy. AUW 461gr, would need to be around 350 to really go somewhere. Incidence angle of horizontal stabilizer very high, I reduced it with around 3 degrees and that was good, reduced the stall tendencies it has. It needs a lot of power to fly, I use a 4800kv motor with 3S and it's really on the limit to fly it. It's quite fast anyway once in the air so make sure to have some simulator time before trying it. This is my second one, I like how it howls through the air at low flybys. Will not buy another.

Just got mine a month later due to Hungarian post/customs bureaucracy. Hungary is far away from Europe, though being in the middle of it. Well, beautiful plane. Quality is is very good, but the vertical stabilizer is warped. I will try to fix it with the hair-dryer, will update. to stop the speculations, mine arrived with the red nose ring. It is NOT only painted on, it is plastic and protects the intake opening.

Nice flying jet. 55mm edf unit. 30 amp esc. hitech servos. Needs allittle nose weight. Like the wing cam they sell here. Check out videos under "danieljduff1978" on youtube.

Overall, it's good value but there are a couple of things that are mystifying ...
1. The ARF version has a nice protective red plastic flange or collar around the air intake, but for some reason it appears to be missing from the kit.
2. Why are the decals missing? - are these available separately (I can't find them listed anywhere).
I think these two additions wouldn't cost too much to add to the kit, and I'm sure more buyers would agree.

Hi,

I've ordered one of this Mig-15 a few times ago.
I've been very surprised buy the excellent ratio price /quality.
The plane is wonderful unfortunately she suffered some impacts while transportation from HK to europe. Nothing to serious, fortunately and no cracks.
The parts was just wrapped in bubles film in a soft cardbox.
I think HK should improve the packing of this kind of parcel to avoid this.

The plane is very great looking and HXT500 servos fits perfectly in the servo pits.

I hope it will fly as good as it looks !
