    Want to use your favorite DSM2/DSMX compatible transmitter with your open source flight sim? This is the tool to let you do just that.

    The Orange Rx DSMX/DSM2 Compatible USB Dongle is really just a receiver that binds with your transmitter and interfaces with your computer. All you need to do is to allow the pre-loaded HID driver to install onto your PC, laptop (Mac users will need to download the relevant HID drivers) and bind your transmitter to the dongle in the same way as you would a receiver.

    There's never been a simpler way to use your transmitter as the controller for a flight simulator!

    • Compatible with DSM2/DSMX 1024/2048 aircraft radio and module systems
    • 6 channel output to standard USB HID device
    • Compatible with all open source simulators (Freerider, HotProps, Liftoff, DRL etc) and many others.

    Nothing to install on a Macbook. Just connect and bind. I am using heli-x 10 and a Spectrum DX9, very responsive. Should have done it sooner. It had to use the mouse speedfactor 2

    Works but very few free open source aircraft sites

    Plenty of drone sites but few plane options. Found Microsoft very high quality but application is more for full scale aircraft fans. This works but you will have trouble finding a free open souce rc plane simulator like RF

    howto setup the OrangeRX USB dongle in RealFlight 9.5S (Steam Edition) using the Spektrum NX8 transmitter.
    Should work for an array of transmitters.

    On the transmitter:-
    Create new model. Only enable 6 channels and inhibit the rest (OrangeRX only recognizes 6).
    OrangeRX:-
    Depress the button on the side as you plug the device into an available USB port. The OrangeRX will flash like a reciever and is now ready to be bound to.
    You can now bind your transmitter to the OrangeRX and once successful the flashing will turn to a solid light.
    Enter RealFlight 9.5S. File -> select controller -> select gamepad -> calibrate. Once calibrated, edit the gamepad and set your desired controls. You may have to reverse some as i did.
    N.B 'Smoke' is considered the GEAR channel when editing the controller.
    N.B If any changes are made on the transmitter such as channel assigning whilst bound to the OrangeRX, simply re-insert the device. You won't have to rebind to the device.
