Continued from above: snakes) a very well spec'd, well finished kit. It's not a full house moulded hotliner, but for 90 quid delivered, you can't really go wrong. I wouldn't recommend it to a newbie (possibly the reason it has so many bad reviews?), but shouldn't present any problems to someone with a modicum of building skills.

Lets get the negatives out of the way first. The pre-fitted snakes are appalling, the outers being more akin to thin fuel tubing! I ripped them out (easy as there only attached at either end!) and replaced with carbon tube pushrods. The fuselage is nicely finished, but spray painted rather than gel-coated so a little on the heavy side and wings are a little uneven when you look down them. I am nitpicking here though and overall the finish is pretty good. As for the supplied hardware, though they are perfectly useable, I didn't like the plastic wing servo boxes choosing to mount the servos on hardwood blocks and cover with some old ABS servo fairings. Also, I've never been a great fan of z bends so used metal clevises all round.

Set-up used: Axi 2826/10, 13x7 Cam folder, Hobbywing 70amp ESC, Turnigy 555 wing servos, Hexy MG-14 tail, Nano Tech 3300 4S. Final weight 1950grms

Flying wise, I must say I'm delighted with the way the Pacer performs. I was a little skeptical of the thick'ish wing section, but needn't have been as energy retention is very good. There's very little wing flex and the model tracks very well. 4 and 8 point rolls are very crisp and big square loops are a blast. I recently flew the Pacer at a Fun Fly event and had a barrage of people ask what it was, where I got it and compliment on how well it flew.

Overall then, a bit of a bargain and (apart from the sna

not a bad airframe for the money. a few things to fix and get right.

strengthen the v-tail and redo the control rods with carbon.

running 14x8 hk carbon folder 1500 watts at the moment with 5s

2620mah hk batt and hk dt38 inrunner. weight 2100 grams rtf. very fast, super smooth

I have just maiden the glider with the following setup
Ntm3548 900kv, 3s batt, aeronaut 14x9 folding prop, hs85mg for tail feathers, tgy9018 for ail. CG at 70mm
The glider climbs well, very low sink rate, high speed dive speed is ok.
Mod made to the glider remove all control surface and replace with actual hinge. Stuff epp foam into the tail of the fuselage to stiffen the tail control rod sleeve else there is too much free play causing little or no up elev.
Only had 3 flights trying to setup the glider therefore this is as much as I can review on it. Landing is a big headache without flaps especially with the ground effects this baby doesn't want to land or slow down much, chewing up lots of runway. Making me walk as much as 60-80m just to pick up the glider

Writing continues as I sometimes get cut off before I can post.Yes the Pacer is difficult to assemble and I hope to post some instructions on the Forum. With motor as above the model climbs at 45 degs, accelerating and 20-25m diameter circular loops are possible at half throttle.Glide angle is very good and flat but this means landings are fast even with both ailerons raised to brake. The gel coat on the fuselage is very glossy and brittle and is already showing cracks so you really need to have spongy grass but not too long to fly this model regularly.

I have now assembled and flown this model.Flying weight with a Nanotech2200 3S was 1765g.Motor used was Turningy B3656 1200Kv which on an Aeronaut 12x6 folder drew 52amps.This motor was meant for this model giving a usable CG location and lots of power plus you need an inrunner to crowd in all the wires for the ESC and battery plugs.

NOBODY in HobbyKing build this airplane, because this is a crap...!!! Maybe it will be flying, but many many changes are necessary... Tubes for rods inside a fuselage are free! When you make a light pressure on wire, inside a fuselage tube make a spirale, without a effect on elevator! Arms for elevator are with bad lenght, elevator cant go dawn, because it will touch a fuselage... I fix tubes inside a fuselage with pices a EPS, I set probably right lenght a arm for elevator, but... It is not good... And I cant release a 600W in the air when I am not absolutely sure... Probably I will make a new rods. outside a fuselage, with hole in fuselage somewhere under a wing... HobbyKing makes us betatesters their models. Grrr!!!

Kit arrived in UK ,10days after order, complete and undamaged.Plenty of room for Turningy 3656 1200 or SK3 equivalent outrunner. On 3S with 10 or 11 inch prop should provide plenty performance.Wing is obechi-skinned polystyrene with film covering.Section is similar to SD7084 semi symetrical and good for high winds.
