The original brushed motor is to weak. But if you install a AP-02 motor, driven by the HK030 ESC and use the GWS3020 propeller you get plenty of power and have a really nice flying model.

Great plane. Mine didn't seem to have enough power with the stock motor to do more than climb very slowly, despite me trying to keep the weight down. Tried a few different props with no improvement. Also, there is no motor mount for the included motor. I took the old motor off, and put some CF strips down the sides of the plane to make it stronger, reinforce the nose, etc. I then replaced the motor with a 3.6g 1200kv brushless motor, and put a 5045 (I think) prop on it - this works REALLY well. Not quite vertical, but it is extremely quiet (noiseless really) and is stone cold after a 10 minute flight. I expect to be able to do vertical climbs once I put a prop on with slightly more pitch. The CF strips down the sides are a good idea as otherwise you will easily break the foam nose of the plane where the motor mounts if you have a hard crash. With the CF, its pretty much rock solid. AUW incl battery (nanotech 130mah) is 34g.
This is a great plane for the price. I've bought another one which I might try to put ailerons on.

Got one as a free item, not flown yet. All items included and comes in a nice box. This is the cheapest PNF plane in HK! :)

Okay, finally got this gift plane to fly, I found there was not enough power to keep it in the air. I substituted the supplied prop with a slightly bigger GWS EP4530 propeller - now she stays in the air! also tie the motor part of the power drive directly to the carbon fibre rod, use kevlar thread and 'THICK' CA (otherwise thin will go into the motor).

As others - AWU 24g with Turnigy 130 mAh battery - flies about 10 yards slowly sinking all the time -what a pity as goes together well and looks nice.

Nanotec 30c 1s batteries no better.

Always check the servo leads - mine too were reversed but easy to lift retaining tabs, slide out the pins and put them back in the correct slots - then 'dead' servos will work fine.

Anyone tried a different prop or motor setup?

This plane goes together nicely, as the parts have slots and tabs to make them fit precisely. Make sure you keep the weight as far forward as possible, as this plane tends to be tail-heavy. The control surface hinging is tape, so you should plan to add a bit of reinforcement tape on the opposite side, and make sure the sticky tape surfaces come together to form a good hinge.
