Purchased one of these pitts mufflers due to the price and location in a US warehouse. Mounted on my engine and noticed the outlet pipes stick straight down instead of angling backward. Pretty much have to destroy the bottom of your airplane cowl to make it work so the cowl can be installed. Outlets should have about a 30 degree or so angle backward so you do not have to cut so much out on the cowl bottom. It may work better to shorten the pipes and slip on a piece of silicone tube after the cowl is installed. Thought of that idea too late for me.

I have tried 2 of this style muffler 50cc & 30cc. Both are far to lightly built and suffered from extreme metal fatigue after only just a few flights. Cracks opened up all over and even after re-welding more appeared elsewhere. Eventually these mufflers just self destruct. Photo's available if interested.
Not worth the money. Wish I hadn't ordered a third one.

Very poor quality. I used this muffler with RCG 50 Engine in Pace Spirit 2.2m. After three starts fell apart. No crash, no poor landing!!! I do not recommend, it's a waste of money. Vladimir

at this time, the only issue I have found, is the bolt holes are too big for the bolts supplied.

I modified a couple washers that fit the bolt better, and barely fit down the tube for the exhaust bolt! seems to hold ok for now!

This muffler is poorly constructed. Mine was not faced off properly at the manifold and even after trying to correct this (there's not enough "meat" at the manifold phlange to do it properly anyway) it constantly vibrated loose. I tried all sorts of things to counter this issue with no luck. On the last flight the muffler gave way at the manifold leaving the mounting bolts in the head and hung loose in the cowl. I've since replaced it with a better muffler with no further problems. Stay clear.

The only way to stop it coming off is to run a long bolt with over sized washer so it holds to the outer casing. It is made of soft material and the heat just allows the countersunk holes to pull through. Material is way too soft.

failed me in every single flight, the material is too soft, only works for the first 8 minutes. This one is not worth buying.

fits nice and sounds really good on the DLE 55, BUT didn't last long. the aluminum is to weak and warped after 5 flights, the bolt holes are too large for 5mm bolts. I tried everything to get this thing to stay on the motor with no luck. switched to Bisson.
