Surprisingly heavy and there is a lot of slop in the servo connection. Most of the slop can be removed by gluing the components together though. Quite enjoying it so far.

The RotorBits Tricopter is simple yet elegant and easy to put together! It's like Lego for big kids and can easily be assembled with little knowledge in the area. I love the colour scheme and it is easily orientated in the air. The landing gear is sturdy and the zip-ties hold together really well. My only criticism (and the reason I gave the quality one less star) is because I had do some rectification the servo-tilt section and the gears. The servo they recommended/showed in the picture did not fit in the servo bay and the nylon gear was far too small for the gear teeth and it was hard to fix. I ended up super-gluing it and it managed. HobbyKing perhaps release a new version? Other than that I love it. And it is great value for money!

Got one of these in the mail today... Very robust and well designed kit.
Decided to order another one to build for night flying with some led light strips.
Pretty easy to put together.. I used the KK2.1 control board and setting it up was a breeze..
I assigned the autolevel to my landing gear switch so I could easily switch back and forth for acrobatic modes.
I used plush 18 amp esc.. DT 700 kv bell motors and an orange spektrum compatible receiver with satellite Corna 929 metal gear 9 gram servo for the yaw.
10x4.5 slowfly props (2 CW and 1 CCW) and get an easy ten minutes with 2200 mah Turnigy batteries.
I give it a hearty two thumbs up.. (ps.. I didn't use the screws and bolts per directions
I simply drilled a pilot hole and tapped it for the screws on one side.
Built a battery tray with 1.5 glass plate cut 1.25 x 7" and suspended it from the bottom with wire ties.

I have two rotorbits tricopters and they are excellent very tough. I would highly recommend them
great for general fun flying and they fly great with the KK2 and recommended motors. Thanks Hobbyling for a great bargain.

Please do not overlook this frame kit !! I have built and crashed more multirotor kits then I care to admit to. This is the best kit I ever built. The first time that everything fit to a perfect match and ended up being one of the strongest one I have. Very Perice fitting of all components . May be a bit heavy . I love it !!!!

Received my kit today. A bit disappointed as the carbon fiber rods that come with it don't have holes , so you have to either buy the jig set for it or drill the holes very carefull.

The kit is very neat and nice .It Seems to be strong enough to handle some crashes. But this I will find out soon.

Awesome kit. My first multirotor and I was impressed with its quality. My only gripe was the servo mechanism. The recommend led servos do not fit without alot of fiddling around. Otherwise im happy with it.

This was my first multi-rotor kit so i can't compare it to anything but i will say this i am happy with this kit. It was simple to put together and using the recommended electronics except for using my own servo it flies great . Very stable using the KK 2.1HC. The reason for 4 stars are because it did require some modification to the servo mounting area for my servo to fit properly as well as having play in the back area where the rear motor is mounted on. This was fixed using super glue :) Great product!!! Thanks Hobbyking!!!
