Picked up mine from the warehouse. Zero damage. Flies great with no bad tendencies. Using a 4000mAh with stock everything and I have no complaints about how it flies. Flimsy foam wheel paints, foam hinges for the elevator and ailerons, soft landing gear, and no battery hold down strap are about my only gripes. All gripes have been taken care of quite easily and now I have a really nice plane for very little money!

Bought 2 of these a few weeks (11/30/2012) ago and picked them up at the Tacoma Wa. warehouse to avoid the crazy shipping charges. Honestly I didn't have to high of expectations because of the price. I was pleasantly surprised though when I opened the box and looked at the quality of the plane. These were suppose to have some kind of blemish or problem with the cowls, but neither of the 2 planes that I got had any kind of noticeable defects. The instructions flat out suck. If you are not familiar with building ARF kits I would say you will probably have a hard time. If you have experience already then it shouldn't be any problem for you. One of the 17g servos that was pre-installed had stripped gears from the factory. If you end up buying one of these I would say to take the money you saved on the purchase of the plane and invest in some descent servos. it takes (2) 9g servos and (2) 17g servos.

I had the Decathlon 1800mm shipped UPS from the US warehouse and it arrived with the shipping box side crushed in from transport. Opening the outer shipping box I found the inner model box and foam container OK. When I took the fuselage out, in its plastic rap, I found the cowl damaged beyond repair, the plastic cowl is not supported within the foam container and a drop on to the motor end will cause the fuselage with cowl attached to shift/move forward and the pressure will fracture the cowl. Mine was damaged and no amount of glue or tape will repair the cowl damage. I will be able to fly the Decathlon but without the cowl it looks out of place in the air.
The damage is acceptable for a PNP, need a receiver and battery, for the ridiculously low price of $100.00 complete with Motor, ESC, Servos, Prop and spinner.
I think I will order another Decathlon 1800mm 71 inches just for a spare.

There dosen't seem to be many reviews about this plane. Since I just picked one up this weekend I have to say what an incredible bargin! The price of just $99 is pretty cheap because of all you get with the plane. The motor is largre probably a 42 mm diameter or even larger, also a 40 amp esc and 4 servos (all are already mounted) The ailerons and elevator are hinged.

If you have any experience putting together a plane this will go together very easily, not much in the way of instructions. The wings are huge (long and wide) which should make for easy short take offs (STOL), like the real Decathlon.

I did pick up my plane from the warehouse, but I checked shipping and it was only $27 which is alot but still reasonable for such a large box.

I could not find any problems with the plane and I am still to figure out why it is in the scrartch and dent catagory

Picked up one of these PNF Decathlons from the US warehouse so these are my initial impressions with no flight time yet. This is an incredible value @ $100. At 1800mm (71 in.) it is huge and has lots of scale detail for a foam airplane. The fuse is VERY sturdy having an internal ply box structure for strength. The finish is excellent and quite faithfully depicts the shooting star motif of the full scale. I have to admit that I am not sure why they are blowing these out. The only problem mine appears to have is a slight misalignment of the cowl to the motor!! The instruction are scant, so be smart!!
