Generates great heat and a fantastic tool. Only issue is the tip fatigues and wears after a few uses. So buy the spare tips along with this Iron as you will need them.

Ok, so this 30w 12 v soldering iron seems to do the job just as well as my 50w irons.
Mostly soldering XT type connectors on cables with it.
Planning on 3D printing a new handle for it, that allows a 3s lipo battery to fit inside. This would remove the wires making it fully portable :D

This a brilliant little iron that makes short work of those battery leads. I have a AUD$300 Iroda gas iron and it did not achieve the results from this economically priced unit. I used it with a 4S 4500mAh and after three battery connections (3 plugs) it only used 10%. Perfect for the field.
