After a 2 minute journey with 11.1 LiPo on the water the boat stopped.
After a fast swim i smelled the bout, it was hot and did not smell good at all.
I was hoping it was the speed controller but NOOO the engine is fried.

I put it in wit a Prather X440/3 movie here.
Even the wires into the motor have melted :( so i realy dont se how this motor can cope with 15V

Just hooked up this motor to an Aquastar 90A ESC. Bench testing the motor with zero load it draws massive current and gets very hot. Shaft turns freely and ESC is set to auto. I think my motor must be faulty so I will return it for a replacement. Really looking forward to getting this boat up and running.

Very good engine for a 60cm boat, i use this with a LIPO 2S 5000mah, and a K31mm graupner prop, the wattmeter give me 50amp. ( /-15min), the engine and the esc keep cool.

Just bought one,
Had one before and must say it is a great little powerfull motor.
With the right ESC and prop It will not get hot and deliver a lot of power.
I had it in a Blaze EP boat and it ran about 65 kmph.
Now I will plce it in a sword mono I of 60 cm ...........
Like this motor!!! full stars for it

I bought 2 of these motors for the HK F1 Hornet. I also used the HK marine 60amp ESC. This is a great combo, running a 3s5000maH battery. The boat is now super fast (approx 70km/hr), be careful as the boat flipped on my 1st run, and had to re-adjust the outboard leg. The ESC and motor do get warm, but not hot. I run a 42mm prop.

Ok so I got these motors in about two to three weeks time as usual.

On first look they look nice no problem there, seems to hold watter, conectors are good...

Then i tested them (no load for now) with 40A superbrain ESC wiith half charged 3S LiPO and I got: 5,8A no load current at 11,5V spining at about 41400RPM

They're not runing as smoth as i hoped they would - i'm a bit woried about berings failing

Other than that I will be using it as Speed600 replacement/upgrade - the size is about the same at only 75 of weight. The only thing wrong here is that the mounting holes dont match - they are 16mm and 19mm apart but no big deal. Screws are M3

All in all i think they're all right, but the true test is still to come as I'm still building me self designed twin drive catamaran

TR28-45-3600w- i heard a bad noise and pulled the endbell off and the cylinder inside had flaked the covering about the size of a pencil eraser and shut down completely. Now can there be a replacement cylinder for this motor or not, thanks for your time and patience. retoabcr
