Finally got to take it for a run...changed the motor to a 4350 kv motor and an 80 amp esc...goes like a bullet...only draw back is took a small tumble and the cover just exploded..also the wheels dont offer much traction i suggest placing wider tread pattern and a hevier steering servo...otherwise a great set-up

Good looking car. Had big problem, went to bind the car to my HK controller the power cords came off the esc they touched and the power surge went through all the electrics...closer inspection showed terrible soldering to esc...as a result i am out 1 esc....1 lipo battery....2 terminals to motor melted...and skin missing from my right hand...lucky the lipo didnt go up completly....learning experience for me...

Not quite the Trooper, however it is a well designed SCT. One problem, the body requires alterations around the wheel wells to allow for proper clearance. The body should be updated to improve the truck's looks.

|I had bought this for my 14 yro son .. so far on initial runs the speed and handling have been great running only on 2 cell ( have not tried 3 on the truck yet) I agree with a few others here on the forum on the slipper clutch.. You have to watch for signs of sticking or locking. I went over the truck retightening everything before we took it out. Basically it is what it is.. You get what you pay for. Traxxas slash is the bench mark.. So far the truck has been put through its paces by my son and his buddies. Things to consider on maybe swapping out heavier coil over shocks and better quality nuts on the shock towers. Optional metal chassis parts for re enforcement of nylon parts. Making the drive system and transmition waterproof like the slash.

Dear all, please stay away from this product. Mine lasted one run. If you read some of the previous comments, you will note that the slipper clutch is way too tight from factor. This will destroy your read diff and centre drive pinion. Hobby King are more than aware of this fault, but trying to get them to replace defective parts or offer a refund is like trying to get blood out of a stone. Purhcase at your own risk people.

this is a great SCT and the price is even better iv been hold is a copy of a slash although not direct but alot of parts and hopups will fit. iv upgraded to a 80amp 4cell ESC and a 14.8v 550 2650kv brushless motor with a 5mm 21t pinion and it is total over kill and undrivable its like a land speed record car with bad handling as its high ground clearance and big tyre so now using 2cell 100a witha 4000kv trackstar motor with smaill pinion and it drives great. really good on off roading and jumps. i have crashed alot flips and rolls but not yet broken it. if u buy check out you tube video as there afew thigs that need attenion like loosen slipper threadlock screws under front C block steering at the wheels and cover centre shaft as small stones get in there and lock it up and do bad damage. allround real good truck...

I went over this truck with a fine toothed comb. Here is what I found: The truck looks killer. It has very good hardware, all the screws are Button Head socket screws and are good and hard. The plastic is very soft, which is good for crashing but bad for making screw threads. I have found several screw threads in the plastic already stripped from the factory. Some screws I found were just loose also, never tightened all the way. The drive shaft is not straight. It is out of round and will cause a vibration problem. The tires are glued to the wheels, that is not always done so bonus points there. One of the screws for the lower front steering hub is not the correct screw, and this screw is also stripped threads in the plastic. So this hub is impossible to adjust properly until a correct screw type is located. The slipper clutch that everyone says needs to be loosened is easy to get to actually thanks to a slot in the cover plate. The body is trimmed nicely and looks really good. There is a plastic socket wrench included and it is made from the same soft plastic as the parts on the car. It cannot remove a wheel nut, it just rounds out immediately. The allen wrenches included are typical soft metal and so pretty worthless.

In summary, this is a pretty darn good truck for the money. There are some tweaks that need to be made for reliability in the long run. The tool kit is pretty

Doesn't come with a manual for the electrics. Was a guessing game to calibrate the throttle for my transmitter. Made sure anything prone to fall off during vibration had loctite on it. Loosened the slipper. If you loosen it too much, its a dog to get up to acceleration. Experiment to find the sweet spot. It the curb the first time out cause it doesn't like to track straight on uneven pavement busted the C block. I would recommend getting 2 pair as I have done. Good basher, just hope they make some aluminum parts for it some day.
