Overall good motor/gearbox pair. Motor shaft is 1.48mm (1.5) and gearbox shaft is 3mm (threaded). Ran with 5x5 and 6x4 prop, 2S 500Mah LiPo on a small (26"/66mm) scratch balsa Cessna O-1E Bird Dog - free plan from Outerzone UK. Very powerful for the plane.
Gearbox is aluminum with ball bearing "bushings". Mounting the box took some creativity as it has no mounting holes. It does have a oval slot (approx. 8mmx4mm) for a mounting pole.

I wanted the Turnigy 1220 motor - out of stock. So I bought this system, pinion very hard to remove - anyway good motor.

The one I got was binding up.Upon closer inspection I found the inner rotating portion of the motor wobbling and making contact with the outer windings.

Remove the shaft and loctite the spline. The large cog is not locked well enough on the spline and will come adrift without too serious a consequences, but renders gearbox inoperable until fixed.

Put it in a small SU27. 50cm wings. I can do 3D. Use 1s 1,3mah. Wants more?

Smooth operation on bench test. prop shaft seems large for motor size, could save some weight with smaller gear and shaft combo. Great deal nonetheless.
