GREAT Battery! EXCELLENT Value for money!

Really nice battery!

Before buying, the negative feedback given by some buyers in older feedback nearly put me off, I am SOOOO pleased they didn't. These batteries are perfect in every way, and I would be inclined to ignore negative comments regarding these batteries...

I run 2 of these in series to get 37V (42V fully charged) on my DIY Segway.
I have been for the last 2 months now, flawlessly.

They charge fast, discharge up to 100A (peak of 150A)...
I drive two 350W DC scooter motors (@37V), they don't even break-a-sweat,
they stay cool as a cucumber whilst charging and discharging.

They arrived well balanced, at 3.85V per sell (perfect storage level).
I have no issues charging them, actually I have the opposite, I can't seem to run the blooming things out... Hahaha... I am not complaining...
As they have a massive 5000mAh capacity, I struggle to get them down to 3.85Va after each use.
As I only use a cheap C6 charger with a measily 5W discharge, I have made a resistor bank that I connect to the Turnigy's, to discharge them slightly below storage voltage (down to 3.80V), then I use my charger to charge them back up to storage charge (3.85V).

At just over £30, this really is a steal, I can't wait to buy more when my finances allow!

Nice battery. I run four on my wife's Beach crusier, with a little 300 watt gearless hub motor. Not a lot of assist but not the fault of the batteries. These batteries do their job every time. Came ballanced and continue to be.

purchased 4 of these a while back to use as 10's pairs in a f3a model and they were all ok.
just bought another 4 to give me another 2 pairs and one of these batteries was well out of balance there was a battery checked on date on the box of 27/1/15 so battery had been sat on a shelf for over 18months. not only that but the battery was slightly different dimensionally and it weighed over 70 grams heavier than the stated weight.
total lack of quality and consistency in their batteries, this just might be my last purchase from them.

Don't buy this POS battery!!! I ordered on and it sat on my work bench 3 weeks while I finished the airplane. I charged it to break it in and found it would not take a charge, had a dead cell, and would not balance. I completed an RMA a week later which was rejected because it was past 30 days. Despite NEVER having used the battery even once I was just SOL. The money won't kill me but the principle of it is eating me up. I order something from China that is complete crap and just have to eat it if it doesn't work. Others have complained about this item not balancing and having issues, Caveat Emptor.

Like others that have reviewed this battery, it is a good deal if you are lucky enough to get one that works. From day one I could not get mine to balance or to hold voltage. I am an extremely experienced electric modeler with years of flying 10S packs in pattern planes. I tried to charge/balance it with three different charger/balancer combinations from my trusty old Thunder Power to my extremely reliable Cell Pro chargers. In each case it just went almost immediately into balance mode with the balancer working as hard as possible. I did finally get it to full voltage after about 2 hours of very slow balance charging. When I ran the electric motor you could hear the RPMs drop almost from the minute I went to high idle. A voltage check immediately confirmed that he pack does not hold voltage and obviously has a bad cell. Even at a discount price I expect to get SOMETHING for my money. Normally i just grin and take it like a man when I get a bad battery from HK (has happened 3 times before, guess i'm just a slow learner) this time I will contact them and hopefully get a replacement. If not it will be the last time I order a pack from them. Already replaced it with a pack from Hobby People in the states. At least if that one doesn't work there is someone to call.

Up until recently I would have rated these as 5 Crown across the board. I bragged to all my friends at how good these batteris are. I own 40 of these, and have been using them for 4 years now. However, HobbyKing recently made a radical change to these batteries. They used to come in weighing very close to the 666g spec that is advertised. The new batteries come in at only ~550g, and the capacity is correspondingly lowered. I need capacity. I want the older 666g battery! It was great! Please bring back the higher capacity battery!

They finally gave up after 4 years of usage on electric vehicles. Time to buy 4 new. Cells are all fluffy but still balanced. Impressed. Will buy more!

I am using these in series and parallel configurations to power an 800w electric bike and they perform brilliantly. I have 2 battery banks consisting of 3 of the 5000mah 5s batteries and 3 1800mah batteries. The two are then connected in series to give 37v. At full power the batteries are going at just 1C which is about 20 amps. The voltage drops about 0.7v at full power

When using the batteries in my 1300 watt trainer plane, they only get slightly warm with the gentle flying I do mostly.

I rarely discharge them below 3.8v per cell and mostly only charge them to about 4.15v as the Mega 400w charger doesn't fully charge them which I suppose is good for longevity.

The batteries consist of thick plastic tape that wraps around the cells lengthwise and this doesn't stick properly which makes the battery appear slightly puffed.

I have bought 12 pieces of these lipo packs for my ebike. All arrived well balanced and are working great. I have about 30 cycles yet on them and they stay well balanced. I am very satisfied! Thanks hobbyking!
