Very powerful motor

Bought two of these to power a 150 cm Fairey Huntsman model. One had a water jacket leak, but was replaced with out quibble, though it took some 6 weeks from reporting the fault to receiving the replacement which came from China. Running through two 150 amp ESC's and coupled to 4 12v lead acid batteries (Two sets of series coupled in parallel, giving 24 Volt 14 amps) they run very well. Two brushless water pumps provide consistent cooling to these two motors, they have given no trouble and provide ample power to drive the boat forward.

Mixed feelings

I bought two of these to power a 150 cm Fairey Huntsman model. After installing them I tested the cooling system by using a 2cm dia syringe. Both motors leaked. However I found the cause of the one to be loose pipe connectors, this cured the problem on the one motor, but the other was leaking from the water jacket seal. I made a claim using the online claim form and was instructed to return it to a UK based company. Response from HobbyKing was pretty quick. Only posted the faulty unit yesterday, so waiting to see how quick the replacement arrives. All a bit frustrating as I was ready to test this new model out on the water.

Good powerful motors

I bought a pair of these to power a large (1.5 mtr) boat. Mounting them was straightforward as they have two sizes of mounting screw holes at the spindle end. I've just finished installing the electric to operate the boat but have not had chance to run it yet. But I expect with the 3 12 volt batteries running in series they should give plenty of power to drive the boat at good speeds.

Second One was Fine

The first one had a water leak where the "O" ring had popped out during assembly. A replacement was sent out immediately and was fine. Not pushed it hard yet but early signs are promising.

A very good inrunner for very fast submarines. My new Orca 1:10 is very very fast. He jump out of water by weight 15 kg.

Prop size

What is the recommended prop size for this motor ? i cant find any details anywhere
id like to run on 8s , but with the biggest prop and low speed for high thrust.....
