One fail after 20 cicles after claim hobbyking replaced It in récord time Thans hkJust received these, they are nice and well built, however, the nose reteact fail after one cycl e has burn electrical smell from motor.
I have submitted a warranty claim to hk. Will wait and see how it is handled.1. Nose gear is a recess mount, not flush mount. If you mount it vertically, you'll need to electronically reverse the throw. (It was a real BIG pain to install!) Hope I never have to replace it!
2. Main Struts are 123mm, not 100mm. Nose strut is 140mm not 145.
(Glad I have a Micro Lathe, Drill Press, and Metric Taps.)
3. Several set screw were missing.
4. Design and being Compact get Zero Crowns!
All 3 do cycle. (For now.)
Great deal - unfortunately, like most of HKs electric retracts, these are trash. One of the mains were DOA out of the box. The other one died right after I took the RMA video! Another project on hold due to their crummy retracts. I should learn and just go Spring Air or Robart. HK keeps me tantalized with these prices, HOPING they finally got their collective S**T together, but alas...I have purchased two sets of these retracts and have had to return them both. The first set had a faulty main gear actuator that failed after one cycle. The second set had a faulty nose gear actuator that NEVER worked and both main gear actuators would extend and retract on their own with no signal input from the transmitter. The quality of the machining seems very good but the electronics are very poor. I am still waiting to see how HobbyKing treats me regarding warranty on this product.Havn't tested them yet, but they look pretty good!
Pricing is exellent compared to other brands.A little bit of slop in the gear, but this is easily corrected with a shim. Overall, an excellent product at a fraction of the price of the "other guys."If this retract is build by lander products it will fail within 4 to 5 cycles. I have replaced 2 units and all have failed. The switch for the on cycle is of poor quality and fails. There is alot of slop in up expect the legs to move 3/4" side to side.Produto de grande qualidade e fino acabamento , funciona muito bem , minha unica critica que achei os eixos fracos e curtos para instalao das rodas , estou substituindo por eixos mais resistentesThese are great value. Nice slow retraction rate (2 to 3 seconds). The only criticism is that the axles are too short for the size of wheels needed for the weight of model that these are designed for (hope that makes sense).
