I received the new version of this a couple of weeks ago. It has been changed so that the motor mounts centrally and can also measure thrust in either direction, just like the version with the built in watt meter.

Unfortunately, mine appears to be wildly inaccurate. After testing a motor and getting thrust values much less than I expected, I tested the stand by turning in on its end and placing a known weight of 368g on the motor mounting platform. The stand registered this as only 270g!

I realise that I can't expect too much for something this cheap, but measurement accuracy that is off by 1/3 is just not acceptable.

Gewicht:510g ohne Batterie

I just got the thrust stand and am disappointed with the linear bearings installed. I measured the drag of each bearing after removing the mounting plate. Each bearing has very rough spots which seems to shift as I work the bearing back and forth. I don't know if the problem is the bearings or the shaft but something is defective. I got it on sale so will see if I can fix it since dealing with HK returns is not worth the effort. The electronics seem OK so far.

Very nice product for $40. Much better than a scale and quad arm! Seems to be accurate. I am custom designing Hexacopters and this is great for testing which prop and motor works best. have set up the test stand with amp meter, temperature probe and rpm so everything is easy to access. Thanks Turnigy.

This is a good product for the price, but there are just a few little things stopping this from being a great product.

The first being that one of the hex screws which needs to be removed in order to install the batteries is positioned so that it's almost impossible to get at with a hex wrench or screwdriver. The standoffs for the test assembly are totally in the way, and I'm sure somebody could design this MUCH better with just a little thought.

The second is: Why not add a micro USB power input? This is a bench tool, and it totally makes sense to have it permanently plugged in to power. Any common phone charger could easily power it for the cost of a voltage regulator and a micro USB port.

My particular unit doesn't zero easily, and there seems to be about /- 8g of error factor when zeroed. Otherwise, this is a handy bit of kit for the right price.

I odered mine this week from EU wareshop and got it home in 2 days! Very nice and usefull in conjunction with my wattmeter and servo tester! I regret I hesitated that long to buy it. I tested trust on 2 motors and a bunch of propellers this morning in my shop in less than 1 hour!

Very handy tough little stand. Only one problem with it so far. To put the batteries in you take the top plate off but one of the screws is behind the stand making it difficult. Just a stupid design flaw

Great concept. Let down by poor quality. Linear bearings should run on hardened steel shafts. These are not hardened. Mild steel ??? The shafts on mine have become scored after only a few tests up to 3 kg. rendering the linear bearings useless. WAKE UP HK. GOOD PRODUCT LET DOWN BY POOR MATERIALS. I'd rather pay a few more dollars for a decent product. Anyone want to buy a blue paperweight ????????

4 stars due to the soft metal hardware used. Screw heads strip out immediately, and I had to use a tiny screw extractor to get them out and replaced. Otherwise, this is a very cool tool and I have used it to measure the thrust of various multirotor props.
