I doubt that there will ever be a review for this product... Despite a number of requests for help via customer service I am yet to even commence building this.. There are no product instructions, I have asked for a wiring diagram because I am unfamiliar with the two motor / two esc / single receiver configuration.. My request for this information has lead to curt responses and an insult... In addition I am still waiting for a refund for a duplicated payment only to be told to wait 7 business days... So far 21 days...

Hobbyking to me is fast becoming one of those "online" stores who offer no after sales service....

I am running out of patience with their lack of after sales customer service with responses taking up to a week....

This jet is impressive as it comes out of the box build quality is good and value for money out of this world I don't know how they do it for the price. A comprehensive hard ware pack is included and all the parts dry fit where they should. the only thing that I think needs correcting is that they have sprayed wings, elevators , and vert stab with grey paint, the mistake is that it's on gloss white covering . Paint does not stick to anything glossy maybe covering them with grey covering would be a better idea.
Unfortunately my kit had the two black plastic elevator control boxes missing they have said they will send them to me. if you don't have them the elevators can over run their position and act as airbrakes.
I fitted retracts (Turnigy DSR-C Retract System) which are easy to fit only needing the fibreglass to be cut for the wheel wells and the look good. The fan units dropped in did not need any adjustment fed the electrics up the ducting and into the cockpit leaving the esc's (HobbyKing 50 amp no bec ) in the duct attached with sticky Velcro plenty of cooling I have fitted the elevator servos but not happy with the position so I am going to move them when my bits arrive. will add part two when the kit is finished and a couple of photos.
All in all a good looking well made kit it would have got 5 crowns apart from the paint problem and missing parts keep up the good w

Overall, the model is beautiful, as is often the case no instruction is attached and this forces you to mount the model using all its experience in the field of modeling.
I think that at least the center of gravity is due when you provide a mounting kit!
Of one thing I am disappointed that all cpmonenti balsa covered with ORACOVER ORACOVER are covered with shiny white and then painted in matt gray matter of course the color comes off just blowing!

Lass mich mal berraschen :-)

Received the kit from the UK warehouse, but it was delivered while I was out and was left with my neighbour who did not check the packaging.

Even though it was double boxed the box was crushed on one corner and had a tyre mark about a quarter of the way up the corner. The part of the box that had been driven over contained the fan units which were both squashed, the fuselage was damaged by the cockpit/intake area and one of the wings was damaged. The box has eventually been returned to the UK warehouse and awaiting them to get the claim resolved with ParceFarce.

Not HK fault, the plane did look nice though!

Purchased from Australian w/h and recieved today. Pre assembly showed no quality control as one wing was painted underneath with camo scheme . One elevatoe had loose pivot pin and the othe one was fixed offset to the required location. Bet HK wont do a thing about this. Will have to cut open both elevators to repair. Bet hk may even remove this reveiw as negative feed-back, we'll see. Fuselarge is good but i believe the model is over weight as i am a fibreglasser by trade, should have been Vac Bagged.

I recieved this in the mail and it was packed very well. There has been some changes to the product such as the elevator assembly block. You will need to also purchase control horns that can be mounted on the 2mm elevator rods to make this work. However the changes appear to be improvements to the overall design and durability. No longer do you need to cut openings in the fuse to tighten the elevators rods.

First of all, forget about the elevator linkage. Solve it some other way, slot in the fuselage or whatever.
Second, throw away the landing gear the first thing you do. What you need to do is get some plywood and a couple of aluminium tubes with different sizes that fits inside eachother. drill a (ex. 8mm hole) in a 3-4cm big plywood and glue it to the top of the plane(bottom, since it's probably upside down).
Do the same with another bit of ply. slide down the alu tube and glue it.
Once you get this far I can bet you that there is something wrong with the construction of this plane.. GOOD LUCK getting this thing up in the air with any stronger motors..

Hi All

I maidened my HK Raptor yesterday. See the Video on youtube.

<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkiFgkpSdy4> She flew fantastic but the elevator servos kept stalling which resulted in her being destroyed. She is very, very fast and easily flew at 1/4 throttle. At 2.8kg all up, she flies very slow and stable. Do not skimp on the elevator servos. I used metal gear but the tourque was not high enough. Do not use stock fans as it WILL crash. I used two 70mm HET fans with 2w20 Typhoon motors running on a single 4S 5000mah. CG at 90mm was spot on. I will be buying another one built with huge elevator servos, I re painted the model with the detailed cockpit. Look in the files section for some photo's of the finnished model.

Regards Keith
