The motor shows pretty good value for money but under high load the operating speed drops quite a bit - probably due to saturation.
Logger measurements show that I have ~22% slip between theoretical speed and GPS. 4% is slip between prop-speed and GPS while the rest is drop of the operating speed under load (calculated based on the logger voltage under load).
The limit to obay is that 18V max does not allow 5s LiPo - or at least it is good luck whether it works for long. A friend killed such a motor with 5s after half a season, approximately 20 runs...

So I will not exceed the 4s. The boat speed is 63,9kt which is about 118km/h according to GPS

Quite ok for a setup with 2 of these motors. Good value for money but on high end motors the boat would be capable of more.

wow! fast ass motor! i am using this with a 120amp aquastar brushless boat water esc for my aquacraft revolt 30 as a upgrade from the stock motor and this thing flys! heat not an issue as long as you have water running in it and as well as the esc too.

Nice Motor for a Mono 1 / A boat.
Use it in a Hopf triple X an it is fast at 2s lipo, at 3s it is to much for that small boat.
Good Quality an nice Price.

Have put this motor into the Libero boat - more power, more speed. Goes very well even after I sunk it. Well finished and have now bought another for another project boat. Well done HK - especially for having it in the Aus wharehouse!

i'm pushing this motor with 4s 120a aquastar esc and 42mm hydroprop. and run very nice.. fly up to the lake... boat: graupner arrow and sea fire.. this option is not for children!
for 5s is better with a smaller prop. and 160a esc..
power is good, performance and maxspeed is venomenal!!!
caution! the watercooling metall plug is very divisil and go fast defect..

Excelent motor with 4S is too much faster my boat with this motor than the stock motor, just look for a good esc.

Purchased this motor put 7 battery's through it and it just stopped midway through 8th, returned to Hobbyking after much messaging on my behalf a store refund was credited to my account after a couple of months, not a good experience. purchased a motor half the price and it is still running after countless battery's.

Motor lasted approx six runs, returned to Hobbyking two weeks ago still waiting for a reply of some sort. Left a " Whats happening " request with customer support four day's ago still waiting for request to be assigned to a customer support operator. IS THIS CUSTOMER SUPPORT.
