Easy to convert to 8s Balance lead.

These are great I bought 4 on Special.

All you need to do is get an 8S plug and swap the wires over. You just have to skip attaching the centre black wire on the second 4 s connector. Move them one wire at a time to the 9 Pin 8s connector starting with the black wire closest to the black negative main connector. The cut and seal the centre black wire and poke it back inside the battery yellow shrink wrap.

They are a nice light weight battery for its size. Its just a little low on its C rating 35C would be a lot better.

I guess a lot of people don't understand why it has 2 4s balance leads. Its because most people don't own an 8S charger so you can use a small 4S charger that charges via the balance leads. You just charge half the battery at a time.

Nobody can use this battery ! The 8 S battery has two 4S balancer plugs which don't fit to any charger with an 8S balancer plug! So you cant balance and charge this battery with all 8 cells ! I want to return it

How do you balance charge this battery with an 8s icharger with an 8s balance board 2 4s balance ports on the balance board. Which 4s balance plug goes into which 4s balance port on the balance board? If you do not get it right you fry either the balance plug on your battery or the balance port on the 8s balance board, or both the plug and the port.

Looks good and came well balanced, but IT HAS TWO 4S BALANCE LEADS (hence 4 stars), so I lined up the balance leads side by side as they come out of the pack with the arrows on top. There should be a red wire at the end of one plug beside a black wire at the end of an other plug. The voltage between those should read 0v and the voltage between the opposite red and black ends should be 8s voltage. Remove the inner red wire that had 0v when paired with the black beside it by using a small flat screw driver to push the metal tab down while pulling out. Line up the connectors to do a volt check to make sure the cell voltage and polarity lines up. carefully trim off the empty wire slot, and any guide tabs that are in the way with a razor sharp blade until the plugs fit side by side in the charger.

Bit of a problem here. My battery was supplied with two 5 way (4s) balance connectors instead of the 9 way (8s) required. Hope they are not all like this. Got round problem by fitting 9 way JST-XH housing robbed from the Flight Power adapter board supplied with my Imax B8 charger. So far cannot find any other source for these connector housings, so if I want another battery I am stuffed.

The new stock of these 5800mah are built with 10 ga wire instead of the 8ga that was used before. At least they kept using the 5.5 bullet connectors so they are a match.

That would be good to build them with 8s balance connectors, to plug the 8s cell monitor directly.

Apart of this, all of them arrived in good shape and very quickly via EMS. Those bricks can deliver very high power, they definitely deserve the 8ga wires.

I order 2 of them on Dec 28 - 2012 , got them @ Jan 09 - 2013 with Swiss post (EMS Express). This ZIPPY 5800 25C got 2 x 4S balance plug, weight @ 36.6 0Z
they should make it with one 8S balancer!
