only was able to use one as the other one had been machined incorrectly and made my main shaft unable to turn

1. The diameters of all thrust washers were identical

2. One housing has a smaller ID

3. Small amount of metal removal was required.

4. I use high end socket head cap screws.

Make certain the visable thrust plate turns freely

Grease thrust bearings before final assembly.

Main shaft ball bearings have no thrust shoulders (took one apart and looked). The ball bearings are designed for radial loads only. Only factory thrust bearing I have seen was on an outrage heli. Blade pitch puts thrust load on main bearings and they soon fail without a true thrust bearing installed. Don't waste money on training heli by installing thrust bearings as heli will not survive that long anyway. To date no thrust bearing mounts for pro series helis have I found. HK needs to offer one! 3d flying puts large thrust loads on main shaft and short main bearing life will result without thrust bearings installed. If using ceramic high end bearings, by all means install thrust bearings. If you strike blades, high end bearings will degrade to normal bearing quality so again don't waste money until blade strikes is not a common occurance. Running main and thrust bearings dry will give higher head speeds initially (very fast forward speeds if using flybarless head), but rapid deterioration of expensive bearings will result and head speed will drop off. I made my own bearing grease inject

I did mount the camera from the helicopter spare parts. I want to upgrade to the thrust bearing. http://aviamax.livejournal.com/17278.html

One of the bearing housings has an interference fit, which appears to be intentional, use this bearing housing in the lower position.

Radial Bearings: Use mandrill from a one-way bearing fitting/extraction tool, in conduction with a 'G' cramp to gently press the radial bearing into the bearing-housing.

Thrust Bearing: The two race-halves are different one had larger outer diameter, larger inner diameter and thinner the other has smaller outer diameter, smaller inner diameter and is thicker.

Fit the one with the race with the larger outer diameter nearest to the radial bearing, the larger inner diameter provides running clearance between it and the main shaft.

The half with the smaller outer diameter provides running clearance between it and the blade holder.

Smear dab of high melting point grease on to the ball-bearings, avoid getting grease into the threaded end of the feathering shaft when assembling.

Brass Washers:

place one of these between the top side of the upper thrust bearing and the lock ring, place the other under the lower thrust bearing and the shaft ring/one-way clutch-bearing.

i bought this with my last order. One of the blocks was perfect the other had a slightly smaller diameter, so the thrust bearing rings where very tight. I used a fine sandpaper and dremel to trim it, so now its OK!! I used the assembly picture from the discussion section to properly construct the blocks. Please don't forget to lubricate the trust bearings with grease before applying the axial on top with R48.
