The manual is incompatible with the airplane in the box. It shows an aircraft with thrust vector and motor for 4S 2200 battery.

The manual shows a model with 7 servos. The site says it has 4 servos. In fact he has three servos.

I tested the airplane by manual launch without success.
I would like to change the engine for a 4S because this original motor is very weak!
Has anyone done this change?

I received mine in good condition. However, mine came with 2 left-side landing gear instead of one of each. I tried bending the wire landing gear to be a right-side and the stupid wire broke. Luckily, I own a welder and was able to weld the wire back together and successfully formed the correct landing gear. Ughhhh. The set screws in the nose gear coupler were stripped out. I drilled & retapped the holes. All good now. I flew mine with a Turnigy nanotech 3s 1800mAh. It felt really soft on power. The take-offs required on long taxi and then it popped suddenly into the air. The plane flies terrific! The power is really lacking. After 2 flights, I'm ready to upgrade the power to make this baby rip. I crashed mine at the end of the 2nd flight because I ran the batteries out of juice. My bad. I set my timer for 5 minutes and it went dead at 4:50. I was flying at full throttle 90pcnt of the time. I just completed a low pass over the runway and went to accelerate to climb out and the motor lost rpm's instantly and it went nose first into ground. Suprisingly, the plane only showed minor signs of crash damage. The canopy was buckled a little and the cockpit area was stressed looking, but not broken. I was amazed because the crash looked violent! Hats off to the construction of this plane. I'm going to be looking into a 4s ESC and a better EDF. I'm really addicted to

As I like overpowered planes, I replaced the original fan (far too weak) with the 10-blade DPS (http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__29285__Alloy_DPS_64mm_10_blade_Electric_Ducted_Fan_Assembley_3300Kv.html),
added a Turnigy DLux 70A Esc, 2 Turnigy 9018MG servos for the tail and a Zippy Compact 4S 3300 35C Lipo and now I have a rocket. The plane weighs 960g, which helps very much on windy days and has a thrust of 1400g. It takes off after 8-10m and goes vertical unltd. It flies very stable and is extremly easy to land, with a little power and nose-up it floats in to the runway, impossible to stall.
The heavier LiPo compensates for the additional weight of the edf and the servos and helps to get about 8 min of flight-time.
The sound of the DPS 10-blade edf is exiting, very close to the real turbines.
This one is absolutely my favorite jet in terms of performance.

Yes, this is a nice plane and flies very good. I modified with 50a esc and battery compartement on top, behind the cockpit. I can have 2200 mah and up to 2700 mah 4s battery. I added to servos for the elevator and programmed v-tail mix on the tx. Nice rolles. 50pcnt expo on elevator and aileron and max deflection. I dont have wheels on. Just hold it in front of the wing and throw it with 60pcnt power. Flying time 8-12 min. Cg seems right and in stall she does not flick over.

I bought this model about a year ago and had issues from the beginning. The DF was very out of balance when received in the kit. I replaced the fan unit, problem solved. My model flew well in the beginning but as flight time was built up on the airframe the airplane became very sloppy, very loose in the air. The design does not do well being built of foam. There is not enough rigidity in the structure to maintain good flight performance with the thin sections of the fuselage going to the control surfaces. I used short control rods on all surfaces with 2 servos on ailerons and 2 servos on the elevator. The airframe has so much flex that even with the 4 separate servos it was sloppy in flight with only 4-5 hours of flight time. It has now been retired to hanging in the shop. It looks OK when hanging but not in flight.

I put a 45A turnigy ESC, used a 7Amp ubec from turnigy and a 800mah 2s lipo to power the ubec...this is put in the same compartment in the reciever forward section right behind the nose wheel. Used a 1300mah 4s....added 21 grams in addition to all mentioned above in the same forward compartment where my rx, ubec and 2s lipo exists...she balanced perfect i had to give like 5 clicks nose down and flew like a pro... i cut power and landed with no power...soft glide...execellent flyer...I flew this over a main street...taking off from local school yard. Guys playing basketball quit playing and was watching the show I was putting up....amazing flyer. Buy it now, stop looking you will not regret this purchase

I have around 3mins flight time out of maybe 20 flights practices with other EDFs, mainly due to not being able to control them, and they don't survive the crash. The first flight with this EDF I had it up in the air, controlling it with no problems for the entire length of the battery. extremely happy with this jet, I have my confidence back and cant wait to get it up in the air again. in fact I've just purchased two more for my self.
