Terrific covering material with a heavy, dark, pure black pigment. As with any color, a poor construction job will not be hidden by the covering. This is particularly true of black as it has the appearance of magnifying any underlying flaws. When applied to a properly prepared surface, the effect is truly stunning. Highly recommended.

I have worked with MonoKote going on 40 years. Now that I have started scratch building again I was looking for a covering that doesn't cost $8 / yard. This covering film suits my needs, and it's quite a deal. There are differences from the brand names of course, and here's a few:

Somewhere in the world there's a mile long roll of HobbyKing covering film. You will receive 5 meters of it, and it will be rolled very tightly (about an inch in diameter) and secured with horrible masking tape. This tape leaves a sticky film you need to work around.

This product is thinner than MonoKote. It is also stiffer than the brand names. The backing on the colored films comes off easily with scotch tape on the corners. The black film is more difficult.

Application heat is the same as MonoKote for me. Shrinks up good. All around great for the money spent.
