Le DH Vampire était le 2e jet à entrer en service dans la RAF et était inhabituel pour le moment en ce qu'il a été alimenté par un moteur à réaction unique, ce qui a permis pour un petit et léger des avions de combat, afin de maximiser l'efficacité du tuyau à jet a été maintenu court, d'où le caractère distinctif double flèche queue, tous ces facteurs ont aidé le Vampire à devenir le premier avion en service RAF dépasser 500 mph. This fly's very well for the price

I picked this up for black Friday deal with the free shipping it's not perfect here is a few tips before you assemble it. The entire plane is glued together the booms and wings have no spars only foam. The booms tend to flex little not a big deal seems to fly well lot of people put carbon fiber tubes in them before you glue the booms in plane. What ever you do don't make the mistake I did and glue over the paint always REMOVE the paint before you apply glue now one of my booms is coming lose. The front nose wheel has lot of play in the push pull cables but not really a big deal once you start your take off roll the vertical stabilizer takes over it goes straight down the runway. Once you get it off the ground it's super easy to fly light loading on the wings gives you very forgiving plane that can climb vertical easy. I would not say it's unlimited vertical but it could be if you want to bump the voltage to the next level it's not a slouch either like lot of the under-powered foam EDF jets which can only fly in circles this will do what you want it to do. Landing is easy the only problem I had was getting it to come back to the ground this thing can fly at almost a crawl in the air you will be amazed really like a trainer. I bought this to learn how to land my freewing F-15 better but it lands so easy I'm not learning anything about landing a high speed jet. Lot of info on rcgroups about the carbon fiber upgrades I don't think it needs it unless your planning on stepping up the power just make sure you get rid of the paint on the gluing surfaces. There is some talk about CG on RCgroups I actually had to move the batter back from where people were saying to CG the plane it was just too nose heavy. I went with the recommended 4S 2700 zippy compact. Flight time about 4 min on 2700 don't worry about dead sticking it into LVC if you need to the thing glides really well in fact I can't even land it with any power if I touch the power just climbs when I'm lined up with the runway. If the booms had some sort of re-enforcement and the paint was removed on gluing surfaces I would give it a 5 star.

Small improvements

My first EDF and pleased to fly with. Wheel takeoff and belly landing on grass. As recommended stiffened tail booms and moved CG forward by 2cm prior first flight.
Two magnets added for a more posivite clamping of canopy and 2 Blue Arrow micro servos inside fins in order to make more figures with movable rudders.
Will probably buy the "canadian" version in future.

What a Blast to fly!

This is my second Vamp, As my older one which I loved, met it's demise when clipping the top of a tree and was destroyed. This plane is Awesome to fly, Very easy to modify, I use a Changesun 10 blade fan, with the stock motor and ESC, 4s 3600 Battery, Stock main gear, Aftermarket nose gear, ( use the stock nose gear until it goes bad) And just replace it with something better, Use a 6 channel receiver and set this up for spoilerons on landing, And you will love the way it lands,,, I am glad this plane is still available, Great plane for the money!

with the recommended battery this plane is very light for it's wing area, which means it just glides and glides on with 0 throttle, it's one of the easiest planes i have to land.
the only problems i had with it is because the foam is rather soft, first problem was the front wheel getting loose and creating slack in the steering cables, it would steer all over the place. i had to reinfoce the entire front wheel area just to stop it from slopping from landing.
also the tailbooms are a bit weak, i had to reinforce them because i got some play on the angle of the horizontal stab and elevator. i get a solid 5 minutes flight on it every time, you can fly it half throttle with no problems at all. i would suggest reinforcing the tail and nosewheel when putting it together.
for the price this plane is a steal! would recommend to anyone wanting an easy going edf.

Great plane flys fast, really easy to build also my favourite plane out of all of hobbykings models. The only problem I had with it was it is really easy to get hangar rash during transport.

Maiden flights today - what a little beauty.

Arrived in perfect condition. Replaced the stock ESC with an 80amp unit set for high timing. 750 watts /50amps with lots of thrust. Removed the U/C which saved 185gm/7oz. Used silver duct tape to close wheel wells.Strengthened tail booms with 3mm carbon rod let into underside fin to wing. C of G with 3300 4s Turnigy needed 30gm lead in front nose bay.
Flew off easily in light breeze from a gentle level hand launch. Needed 9 clicks of down trim at cruise speed but otherwise no problems. Sounds great, very realistic aeros, stall gentle with some wing drop. Glides amazingly well so landing needs a bit of learning to avoid overshooting the runway. Verdict. Terrific scale EDF and even with the new ESC good value.
