aside from the landing gear making the case too small, it only comes with CW threads, so expect it to lose props mid flight unless you tighten it to the max and then some before every flight. expect to spend another 10$ on CCW threads.

Overall a very good quad. All of the parts seem to be good quality. I've had it a few months and haven't had any problems with the electronics. Flies stable and pretty fast. Only negatives are that you have to leave the landing gear off if you want to keep it in the case (the aluminum thumb screws work well as landing gear though), and the ESCs are sort of built into the frame which would make replacing them a hassle. I use Gemfan props but the carbon fiber ones worked as well. Just for fun I loaded it up with an old heavy camera/transmitter system, heavy 3s 2200 mah battery, a heavy naza flight controller with GPS and all of the accessories I could think of. Even with all of the weight, it was still pretty agile (or at least as agile as a Naza quad can be).

Many reviewers all but write HK off for poor quality of their 250 miniquads but this one is really a superb piece of kit. It is sooo strong and rigid with well made parts. The HK support video is nicely done and once setup I fired it up and it was perfect right out of the box. Would have been nice to have some spare props with the kit though. Also the usb is just too close to the PDB to insert the USB cable as the speedies get in the way. 2mm higher standoffs would have fixed this. This is my first miniquad and I can't see me outgrowing it anytime soon. Well done HK.

What I like: Small form factor. It folds up nice and small. The price. The over-all performance is acceptable.

What I dont like: The thumb screws like to come lose. Some nylon locking nuts would have saved a lot of headache. The nylon standoffs are hideous. I replaced mine with Red Aluminum standoffs. They are 35 mm X 3mm if your curious. The ESC's are giving folks trouble. As soon as one of mine dies, Im taking them all out and replacing them with regular ESC's. The are soldered into the power distribution board and require a complete disassembly to get to carefully. Not only that but they rake up valuable room where you could be putting your FPV gear and receiver.

The OpenPilot software is pretty amazing. Its as easy to use as the video suggests. Its fast and intuitive. That being said I put cleanflight on mine and I have to say that she flies cleaner and feels more locked in. I may switch back to OpenPilot simply because of its ease of use. We shall see. The 5" props are great if you slap a 4s battery on here. Otherwise I suggest 6x3 HQ props. The stock carbon fiber props work fine on 3s, and they will zoom you down the field, but the 6" props fell more stable and they hover at 1/3 throttle. For FPV and recording I will stick with the 6" props. Stay away from gemfans. THey are cheap but man they are ugly and unbalanced. Spend a few pennies more on the HQ's and you will see the difference in quality on the bench and in the air.

For the money you cant go wrong w

over all its a great starter and easy to get up and going I hope part will be available soon, I had a hard landing in the lawn and lost one of the stands, they are hard to put on but they come off very easy.

There's my video with this quad:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPZGXjVW9Rk

Flies great, very durable after pretty bad crashes.
Buy some decent props and secure the ESCs with hot glue because they are exposed and I lost a capacitor and now the motors are working pretty unstable until I buy a new capacitor.

Very nice Quad and I love the case, only trouble is I landed on wet grass and burnt out one ESC. Would be a good idea to cover the exposed PCB on the bottom for safety.

Okay so it came exactly as described. Almost ready to fly, just plug a receiver and a battery, connect it to Openpilot and set it up (takes 5-10 minutes), install the props and your'e ready. Flies pretty good, but I'll probably crash it and there's no spare parts or frame only for sale, thats a shame. Also the quad does not fit in the case with the landing gear.

This is a great 250 starter quad, clean build and very easy to start.
