Great fan for the money. The one I received needed a slight balance adjustment (done by ading CA drops on the inside of fan hub). The fan balanced almost perfectly. When runup there is almost no vibration at all. A properly balanced fan makes a incredable sound. I wraped the fan shroud in the prop arc with kevlar thread and CA to stiffen up the housing. After a couple months of flying it shows minimum fan tip rub. The performance is outstanding. This is the best and smoothest 64mm fan that I have.

A fan like this would be a good test to see if it would power a small Quad copter. When it gets stocked again, I will buy four and try it ! Also would be great if Hobby King would offer thrust tubes and or nacels with mounting hardware. That would make a nice easy assembly for use DIY er's ! How about it HK ?

340 watts of power.

30-31 amps full throttle draw. a 30-35 esc should be fine with it.

Motor can run quite hot, so be careful that heat transfers to the shaft and affect impeller hub loosening up.

Make sure you tighten the impeller properly, apply high strength loctite if possible. (Not red!)

Overall, I am quite satisfied, as this my first edf unit and also using in my first scratch build jet. She flew beautifully on a 1300 mah 3s 25c nanotech.

There're no impeller only replacement, but I think you can go for another 64mm edf 5 blade set with no motor on Hobbyking, which is only usd 3.54. I used the impeller from there and fit perfectly.

My AUW scratch build is 422 grams, and I could vertical hover with it on my palm on the jet tip with full throttle.

This will put out at least 422 grams *minimum* or more thrust if you put thrust tube.

Overall, very good value for money.

I just got one of these. At the first start, the fan blades
hit the sides, then they levelled and now it's ok.

The supplied banana connectors, those for the controller side,
are too wide and the connectors just fall out. Had to use a vice to change their shape slightly to get them to hold.

Received my new motors so I had to build a 24"X24" 1/2" foam Delta Wing to for the motor. First flight 10 seconds after takeoff there was a loud pop from the plane but it flew well it didn't have as much power as I was expecting. 5 minutes in to the flight there was a second pop and the plane went out of control and lawn darted in the ground.

When I got to the plane with minor damage what i found is the fan blade broke twice and the second blade that broke stuck in the wind and cut the servo wire half.
I installed the second motor today and will try it again.
The motor is cheep and you have a 50 50 chance on it but it was worth the fun.

I ordered 2 fans took almost 3 weeks to get to Florida The first fan did not rub when I powered it up but when I went to full throttle the blade came off and almost took my finger off. After finding the blade and screwing it back on it worked just fine
The other fan rubbed a little so I had to re seat the fan and it's ok now. I'm new to EDF so I had to build something to stick it on so I made a Delta Wing 24" X 24" X1/2 thick foam with a total wait of 440 grams The motor has tuns of power and I'm sure will fly like a bullet.
Well worth the money spent.

I installed this fan in a scratch built jet. Great power unit for that jet, BUT it went up with five blades, and came down with one!!! I give it two stars as the price is good, and I will still use the motor.

works well, comes with plugs.

huge inrunner, BUT... isn't fixed !

you must screw it.

you can use a small plastic bottle of scheweppes to make the part where flow comes out like in real planes.
