To me these are the best Fatshark goggles made to date. They provide the largest Field Of View of all the Fatshark goggles. This provides the most immersive FPV experience. I use them without any wires by using the built in video receiver in the unit. I also use them with my external 1.2Ghz video receiver by connecting the cable to the goggles and using the video in feature. Good stuff!

Recived today the 2,4Gh Fat Shark combo, added the 12Dbi omni rx Antenna for better range , System works great will add OSD (is already ordered) had to troubleshoot almost 6hours because the supplied 720mAh 7,2 Volt lipoly for the googles was only after charging 3,7 Volt

obiusly broken/default! But overall impression great happy that i ordered.

If you want a set up to get started, then look no further!!

I've been using these for about 3 months now, and I have to say I'm impressed. So long as your expectations are reasonable you'll not be disappointed. Range for me is a comfortable 400ish meters and get used to signal drop on turns, but picture quality is good. Careful of antenna orientation, both rx & tx should be in the same plane, ie both vertical or both horizontal (vertical seems best to me). Charger plug is for US, but an international adapter plug sorted that (and a camera and the heat shrink iron). Get the Fat Shark Camera, as the 5v voltage will match the supply from the tx well worth the extra $$$. No balance on the rx battery, but an "adapter" made up for a 500mah 2s lipo battery fixes that, and use your normal charger. Aircraft system is also a 500mah 2s lipo. Nice and light and certainly enough power for a 15 minute flight.

Recently Ive bought FatShark 2010 Aviator edition video goggles. Ive been using laptop as my primary navigation screen. Ive started with EasyCap USB video adapter. It was very cheap (~7$), and very crappy product indeed. Then Ive switched to Avermedia PCMCIA adapter. It was ok. The mayor problem is laptop screen itself. Its very difficult to seen even there is moderate sun light outside. Even the laptop is in the dark car trunk, reflections are still very bad.
So I finnaly decided to get these goggles which Ive heard so much about. Aviator edition is different from standart edition, because it has integrated 2.4Ghz or 5.8 GHz video receiver. Also it came with 100 mW transmitter. I didnt tested it outside, but I dont expect much from that power.
I had VR920 video goggles before, so I can compare them. First of all, the things I like:
Good field of view (FOV). Its declared as 40ish degrees. It would be nice to have more, to get even more immersion, but its really enought to navigate and feel yourself in the plane. This is where it outperforms VR920.
Good contrast. My camera doesnt produce good colors, so I cant tell if there colors are good, but picture is quite good.
Really good sun shading. Foam around the eyes completely covers everything around, even with the bright sun outside, Ive seen only screen. No silly caps or covers needed.
I know its not a big lis
