Great first REAL plane for kids

This is honestly one of the best models for all round flying. I bought it for my 12 yo and we sloped, flew from a field or just went for a Sunday fly. It is small for transport and the flight characteristics are very good. The only criticism would be that it needs a rudder to slope better but that is a small criticism. Also, it’ll need lead in the nose as the tail is long and the nose is short, even with a larger battery...

HobbyKing (Rob) stiffed me -- no support at all.

Fine airframe, by poor motor/prop combo

I really like this airframe, it is fun to fly and I have had many 20+ minute flights hunting thermals. My only problem is that you can not purchase a replacement prop here (original prop broke mid-flight while climbing...) and the motor burned out shortly after fitting a new prop (found a non-direct replacement here: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/folding-propeller-w-hub-18mm-2mm-shaft-4-5x3-2pcs.html). Had to buy a new motor, even though I made sure it wasn't drawing more than 5-6 amps (supposed to handle fine). The motor mount is not super well mounted either since it stripped the firewall out. Overall, I like the plane, just can't recommend it until HobbyKing offers replacement parts.

Beautiful Flyer BUT........

The glide on this glider is fantastic and penetrates the breeze perfectly and have thoroughly enjoyed the short time I've been able to fly as there are issues:
1) the hatch fell of in a flight because the wood tab that hooks in the front of the battery hatch opening wasn't glued on properly. I no this because the little tab was still inside the battery hatch
2) the area of the fuselage into which the leading edge of the wing sits is fragile and the former inside wasn't glued! So anything but soft landings causes damage
3) one of the prop blades disappeared in a flight - no hope of finding it and no hope of replacing it - you try buying a 3x2 folding prop
4) the fin is fragile - if the grass you land on is a little thick then it can catch the tailplane which in turn rips the fin off
So after just a couple of hours of flying I can't fly it anymore - so not very good value for money. Shame as it's a lovely flyer.

Very nice, well finished and light model sits on the back seat of the car without removing the wings.

This is a very nice model well built, very light and I would highly recommended to someone looking for a small model as it fits nicely on the back seat of the car . I've also used 300 mah batteries as they fit nicely in the front with the receiver to move the CG forward. There is one major issue with the model the prop that others have commented about, recommend using ca glue on the threads as I have lost one blade before I even got to fly the model, hopefully Hobbyking will help out.

450 mah battery doesn't fit. Not even at 45% angle.

But buy 300mah 2 s battery . All my 450's lipos don't fit. Motor also didn't run at first till I unplugged esc connections and switched around , now work. For now. For the cost it's not really a lot. Should be about $60.

Great for the handyman!

Took a bit to get it going but worth the effort - goes slow - goes fast. What it took from the box to the sky? Lipo 2cell 800mAh caught on fire while trying to lever it out of the too tight space. That was the end of that battery, and the irreplaceable folding prop. So while rebuilding the destroyed firewall I put on a new outrunner motor Turnigy Park 250 2050kv with a 4.1x4.1 prop and a 1000mAh 3 cell battery. Now it flies like a rocket or relaxingly slow. Hopefully this review will be accepted this time!

Ezio 800mm.. I can get the Turnigy 500mAh 20-30c 2 cell to fit. It has to sit on 45deg angle with the lead facing back. Model is fragile so best to not remove battery for charging.
No cutting or mods needed just patience.
CofG is as advertised, 65mm back from leading edge at the wing root. She seems to fly steadier at 55mm though. I added a bit of protective electrical tape under the nose and included a paperclip.
