This is a fantastic frame, just finished assembling it. The finish and fit of the parts is awesome and all the hardware included is very good quality. The frame looks great and is very strong and rigid, i'll post a photo shortly...good little frame, I don't think it'll survive a heavy crash or collision but I don't think I saw one yet. the higher back motors are much harder to fix in case of crashes I guess.Great frame looks good and is very portable if you fold your arms.
But i give you an important advice... Tighten your screws of the arms!
I flight yesterday and my arm unfold in air. This caused a crash in 30m altitude.
Frame survived it without a notice.Awesome frame, love the inverted motors look, goes good with cobra 2000kv motors, doesnt like being smashed head on into metal tho :PThe frame was easy enough to assemble, and took me about an hour. I like the looks of the frame and it feels solid. I don't think it will survive a hard crash very well, but not many frames will. I'm running quanum 2206 2000kv motors, 12a afro ESCs, 2200mah zippy compact 40c, 6045 abs props and a kk2.1HC. Test flight was with a multistar 1300mah race spec battery. I'm very happy with it. Coming from 250 size racers and a trifecta frame, this thing flies very nice and smooth. On a full charge I expect to get about 12 minutes of easy flying. Lack of spare parts is a major downside. I don't want to have to buy a whole new frame if I break something. Hopefully HK will hear this and come up with spares. But overall, I really like the frame and would recommend it to someone looking for a nice balance between race frame and steady camera playform.I have now 3 sets of the same frame... long story let me make it short.
The new design is cool but its flawed if there are no parts for the quad.
I had one and crashed... after that took me ages to find the cause of yaw control problem.
Because the motors are not mounted on the same deck so the aluminum standoffs play a role when it comes to motor alignments if you crashed it and managed to bend just a little of the standoffs then the model is un-fly able.
this is the main difference compared to conventional frames where all motors are mounted on a single deck carbon/plastic frame. carbon does not bend only snaps same for plastic. so once you crash this puppy even with a hard landing or small bump somewhere this frame is toast if the standoffs are bent just by a little bit.
so HK stock those standoffs and landing gear please! when you order this frame order at least a set of standoffs and a landing gear.... if possible.
