Not sure how you COULDN'T get this thing off the ground. It's incredibly easy to build, and the dihedral makes it ultra stable. I used a DST-1200 and the thing flies like a scalded cat. I don't have enough downthrust, so every time I hit the throttle, it noses up...but that's helpful for training newbies. I cut off the motor tray (as directed) and cut a big hole in the front of the battery bay for a 1000mah 3s battery. CG is fine without any extra weight. I'd recommend the Yak 12 for anyone with a modicum of talent, but for a 3ch trainer, this one is nice and disposable.

To get either one off the ground. You need
To over power this plane and avoid using a bell motor.

I flew this little beauty today after installing a FC 28-12 Brushless Outrunner 1534kv,a 600mAh Rhino 3S battery, a 7X6 prop and a flysky 6B receiver. The kit is not without its faults and I had to cut away the forward end of the plastic wing mount to get the wing flush with its platform. (without doing this the angle of incidence would be excessive and would perhaps explain why another reviewer had to add weight to the nose). With the components I fitted the CG was just about perfect at about 2-2 1/2" back from the leading edge and the AUW was 450 gm. Way to go!!

Very good for its Price. Easy to install. The lack of ailerons isnt a big issue. Bought plan as Beginner Plane for my son.

I am having great fun with this model. it flies very well and slow if you want to. The kit is very cheap and I have used 2822/14 motor with prop from kit. 20amp red brick ESC, 2 x HXT900 servo, 1000mah zippy compact Lipo. You need to add quite a bit of weight to the nose to get COG correct about 40 grams in my case. I set COG 45mm back from leading edge of wing. you need to cut a hole through the font of the battery box to get battery as far forward as possible. Model flew great when slightly nose heavy. Very Pleased.
