A cheap place to start for DSLR work. I have fitted two BGM5012 150Ts on a BGC, and it handles my Canon 550D with the standard zoom lens OK. Sure, it's cheap (so thin - and light!) so you have to be careful: careful when you tighten things, careful when you land - although the horizontal arm clamps slipping on a bouncy land is preferable to snapping, perhaps. I've now adapted it to 3-axis and it works fine. You can't buy that many tube clamps for the money, so I'd say, for a hobbyist rather than a pro, this is a fine place to start.

Yep, straight out of the box the bearing is by far the worst new bearing I have ever come across. There is dirt in crevices like it has been floating around the shop floor and has obviously been damaged in the press as it has a classic tight notchy feeling. Luckily I bought it overspec'ed for a Gopro for now, so should be OK for the moment. I was expecting a bad bearing, so, off to the bearing shop ....

The design of this product is pretty good, however the manufacturer shoots himself in the foot by using poor quality screws and aluminium for the fittings. 20 pcnt of the screws stripped (or the fitting failed). Nice try, but not worth the 100 bucks. Sadly.
