The canopy and fuselage on this plane are of the lowest quality possible. In the 8 months I've had this plane the canopy and lower part of the fuselage cracked twice. I only have 15 flights on this airplane because I'm constantly repairing it. This last time the fuselage cracked just before launching the plane into the air. I'm not launching at full force either. I have been flying for 35 years now, so experience level is not low. I do not recommend this airplane. Material quality is extremely low. Structural integrity is low as well. The front of this plane is under designed.

Not happy with this at all. Apparently good build quality, but very heavy indeed, with the lightest setup I could do (4Ch FrSky Rx, 5V reg and 180mAH 2S battery), this glider is a whopping 170g. The elevator/horizontal stab is very anaemic, requiring full throws and furthest-forward CG to have even enough authority to flare for landing. I'd say the tailboom should be at least 6 inches longer to give this measly elevator/stab sufficient authority. Not a good introduction to DLGs, I wish I had spent the money to buy a decent brand, and probably a fullsize (ie 1.5m) aircraft. Buy cheap, pay twice.

Bought this little DLG on sale for about $100. It arrived a week later, very well packed, and I had it up and running within 20 minutes - just screw on the wings and horizontal stabiliser. I had to pull the pushrods a little further back in the clevis to get the correct lengths as the servos were not quite centered on arrival. The preinstalled servos are labelled as Emax and seem to be of good quality. The model itself is very well built and looks impressive both on the ground and in the air and everything lines up well. After a couple of landings, the vertical stabiliser began to loosen as a small crack appeared in the boom. This was easily fixed with some Araldite and fiberglass tape. However, with under 30 flights the wings are beginning to loosen just from throwing and the plastic pod has cracked slightly. Overall this is a good little DLG for a beginner but it is very fragile and probably won't survive more than a couple of hard landings. For $100 I am a little disappointed but it is still a lot of fun to throw around - but if I had paid $150 I would be unhappy.

For electronics I am using 600mAh nanotech 1s with a 5v voltage booster and a 6ch orange RX without the case. I wrapped the RX and booster in some of the thin foam the plane was packed in for protection. This setup still required about 10g of ballast in the nose for decent balance.

This latest version of the Unique is much heavier than the original. I bought several on CyberSale and by swapping parts got a minimum flying weight of 150gms! Oversized nose may be heavier plastic and no ply frame. Boom seems very stiff and over diameter of the 7mm kite tubes typical of 1m DLGs, so may be over weight at rear. Lots of metal screws, no nylon. Wings do not sit square on posts, need more contact. Solid balsa pylon structurally preferable. Heavier 4.3gm digital servos, max 5.3v, could be located forward. Control horns way too short and not over hinge line. Servo horns need inner hole to make suitable throws, particularly on elevator. Hard to lock wire under crews. Pull spring preferable. Good build quality and packing, points off for design decisions. On special a fair buy but for less money prefer my similar homemade Mimi with 40pluspcnt wing area at 150gms. HK robot limited order to 3 due to size restrictions but space in the box for more and month shipping due to NiMh batteries!?

You know there is something severely wrong with Hobbyking when they charge you $29 to ship from Arkansas to a neighboring state Texas. I can get the similar size box and weight from just about any other supplier, such as one from Illinois for 1/3 this shipping rate. I ordered this on Black Friday only because the price of the plane was so good. Otherwise I hate to say it, but Hobbyking, you need to stop making a killing on over priced shipping or this will continue to be the only day you see my purchases. I purchase equipment about once a month. Think of it, you could be making 11 times more money from me if you fix your little problem. Airplane flies well and looks nice.

Bought on Cyber Monday sale, very happy with the little one. However the two holes on main wing were not aligned to the fuselage perfectly, one hole was slightly off the center. Had to make some adjustment to get it straight. Still learning to fly it and to get it up in the air a little longer. Absolutely love it.

Just bought this on cyber sale for under $50 and it's looks good for the money. Didn't fly it yet. Weight is ~130g as it comes. Adding battery, receiver and voltage booster will end up at about 155g.

For the money this is a great little DLG, the boom is a bit prone to cracking during hard landings and due to heavy launches, but, it can be prevented by wrapping the boom with a turn of decent quality tape to help stop this.
You cab also stop the pod from putting undue stresses on the boom by putting a piece of servo tape between the pod and boom.
This is my second mini dlg, the other is the purple one with ailerons, it's a bit battered, but, with numerous easy repairs, it still flys pretty well.
