Surprising value and performance for the $. Pulls a 1/4 scale Tigermoth with authority and nice four stroke sound through the straight pipe, no muffler needed. Arrived tuned and ready to run. Needed 1/8 leaner turn on the low end jet. Idles smoothly at low RPM. Transitions to full throttle instantly. I also run an OS FG40 four stroke gasser. The OS has more power, but for $450 less, I'm planning to order another NGH soon. Measure your cowl length though. With rear carb and a long crankcase this engine is longer than some others. I took 1 3/4" off of the engine box for the Tigermoth and reinforced the new firewall well with gussets and fiberglass.I bought this motor for a Piper Pa - 25 with 2580mm span . the motor runs very well and quiet.
The Price and the Quality of the Engine is also very goodBought a new one of these last summer. Had to go to Aus tars for a beam mount and Big Pla nes for a muffler. Apart from that, the thermal spacer (white washer was not flat and was causing an air leak in the inlet. After fixing that, it ran great. Is being fitted in a 1/3 scale SpaceWalker. A friend then sold me a slightly used one for 60 (Thats what I said) and also had the same problem. Quickly sorted, it flew last sunday in a Cap 232 72" span and was a great performer. Very clean, sounds right, and lasts 15min on a 16oz tank. Using a 20 x 8 prop at 6000rpmSo far so good. Only ran half a tank through it so far with 30:1 oil mix. 18x8 wooden prop.I have received this engine from hobbyking recently. It was in a perfect condition when it arrived. All additional components neatly packed in separate bags. I have read on some fora that people received their engines with damaged cooling fins, but not this one. Must point out that these engines where not supplied by HK.

I have the engine and it runs great. Hard to start the 1st day, but after it runs, I can re start it by hand. has anyone tried running the engine with higher Octane? I'm running regular pump gas 87 and I need to run higher for my other gas engines at the field. will 100 Octane hurt this motor at 25:1 full synthetic Oil?I put this engine on a Hangar Nine 1/4 Scale DeHavilland Tiger Moth. I have had four flights on this plane/engine. I really like the engine. It idles very well and has tons of power. I am using a 20X8 Xoar prop and there is plenty of pull. The idle is fantastic and the sound is awesome. I have not had any issues with it thus far. I did run the engine on the ground for break in using approximately 40:1 mix. I was able to start the engine by hand from the start and have been able to hand start it, although it seems to take a few more flips than I would like. I am inclined to believe that the problem is with my fuel supply setup and not the engine. I am using a two line fuel set up, one for the clunk and one for vent. The fill comes into a "T" that is between the carb and tank. I can see that I am getting some small air bubbles in the line when I am filling the tank, so it stands to reason that air could be getting sucked in to the carb, rather than the fuel. It is a fine engine that runs really well. I have nothing negative to say about this engine.im looking for a biela 4 blade scaleprop for my ngh38cc. What dimensions do u guys recommand? Im considering biela 16*8, 15*9, 14*10 but im not sure wich one will give it the most power rpm ???This engine is a winner for the price. Just received mine and everything looks good. The prop im using is an Xoar 19X8. Running it on ASPEN 2stroke fuel with 2pcnt oil mixture.
