    The OrangeRX 2.4Ghz transmitter module offers a simple, convenient and inexpensive way to utilize your module-based JR/Turnigy/Taranis compatible transmitter to enable its compatibility with any DSM2 and DSMX type receivers.

     

    Unlike standard modules which have a fixed protocol, this unit switches automatically between DSM2 compatible (1024/22ms) and DSMX compatible (22ms) during the binding process. It is also manually selectable using a long press of the bind button.

     

    This version also has a major firmware change that allows for the module to work with multiple receivers without rebinding.

     

    Simply remove your existing module, plugin the OrangeRX module and you are ready to bind to any DSMX, DSM2 compatible receivers.

    Works well. Minimal documentation

    This works well with my Frsky Taranis Q X7 despite the the module instructions indicate a x9 is required. Binds with and flies an E-flight UMX Turbo Timber. Though I have to re-bind with the model every TX power on. It's not clear to me whether whether it's supposed to remember bindings or not.

    Works but requires some trial and error

    I use this module in a Turnigy 9X. It doesn't fit the bay out of the box but that can be fixed easily either by removing the plastic housing around the module pins of the 9X or by removing some material from the module casing. I did the latter.
    Initially, the module almost drove me nuts because it needed rebinding the RXs on every power cycle. But then I took a closer look at the manual provided here. There's a section describing that the possibility to connect without rebinding depends on the mode, protocol and channels used during bind. I got several Orange and Spektrum 6CH RXs working as expected when setting the PPM protocol to 6CH in the 9X. And I got a rather aged Blade mQX to work using 6CH and a PPM length of 22ms instead of the standard 22.5ms. So it requires a bit trial and error with the RXs to get them to work. I have flashed my 9X with the ER9X firmware that allows a lot of flexibility in the PPM protocol. Not sure to what extent the PPM protocol could be adjusted in the 9X stock firmware.

    Great bit of kit, works as it should , trouble is ...
    Delivery....... shocking nothing is kept in the UK of these items , they all come from China, takes a month to arrive , no good, I’d look elsewhere
