La presque prêt à voler Phoenix 1600 EPO / Composite Planeur permet à l'utilisateur de sélectionner des composants en fonction de leur propre style de vol. Les ailes et la queue sont fabriqués à partir de mousse EPO difficile. Cependant, le fuselage est fabriqué à partir d'un moulé par soufflage très forte peau en nylon avec gabarits de contreplaqué, ce qui rend presque indestructible. Habituellement réservé aux jouets pour bébés *. Le fuselage pratiquement indestructible est lisse et rigide mais encore assez léger pour le planeur à effectuer. Tant l'aile principale et la queue sont vissées en place et les deux moitiés d'ailes ont une tige en fibre de carbone pour plus de solidité.
* Avoir un coup fuselage moulé sur un planeur est une excellente solution mais il est pas populaire parmi les fabricants en raison de son coût élevé, doublant ainsi les coûts de moulage.

Received mine a week ago as a kit version.
The assembly manual is useless. Like really. It might be good for PNF version but its completely useless for kit version. Like if u say something like attach the part with a srews. and there are 10 different screws in the package, from which 3 different is suitable, then its really useless. But yet. if you are not idiot somehow you will assembly it. a small chance you will assembly it exactly like it is supposed to be but you will.
I really like the build quality for the money. everything fits where it supposed to be. But this is my second prop spinner from hobbyking, and i must say both of them where really horrible. they are so out of ballance you are quite sure they are not ment for spinning. Every other part is built really nice. Come on Hobbyking improve your spinner quality!
Fly characteristics: I just had my first flight. It flies great. It is really easy to control and its majestic in the air.
So only two things i dont like about this product are: assembly manual and prop spinner.
I would definitely recomend this product.I'm happy with this kit. It looks nice, it flies well, the accessory pack is good and it is well made. The fifth star is deducted because of: Instruction manual should have info on which screws goes where. The wooden servo tray is too high so most servos obstruct the side of the fuse. I cut the plastic but the good solution would be to lower the whole tray. The hinges are so-so and a little tape is all that you need but that would be an instruction thing too. Mine uses a Turnigy SK3 2830 -1020kV and it fits right in the motor mount and with original prop after reversing shaft and gives ample power and 18.5A static for a solid climb. Servos 4x HXT900 (no flap) and a 2200 3S gives the CG right with the supplied front weight removed. I have my CG a little bit rearward compared to recommended. Weight 1065g ready to fly. The build took a few evenings, I took my time and did ESC soldering etc. The problems are really minor and easily solved to be honest and it would be a sure five-star rating with only small improvements. Good kit!I have used this strictly for slope soaring. Kit; really impressed inclusion of y leads, servo extension leads, clevises, spare bolts, spinner, glider nose, everything - amazing. goes together hassle free. I have found the hinge foam a bit thin though - my rudder fell off quite easily, though this material responds well to proper hinging - problem solved. I have also added a little carbon to those delicate wing tips I bent one quite easily -perhaps the 'epo' foam here is not 'premium'?? fuz - brilliant (if a little crude..) also impressed with carbon strengthened control surfaces, and chunky long wing joiner. The wing attachment while seeming a bit involved is fine in practice, and much easier than some other popular and more expensive brands. Due to the fuz material this is not a lightweight, it needs about 6oz up front including the battery - though will almost match my Z*** flying wing for response to lift. After experimenting I think I have ended up just slightly rearward of the suggested C of G.. Great performer though - retains a lot of energy and will quite easily whistle around and perform tight and accurate manoeuvres for this type of model. Flaps are very effective. I have certainly seen it outperform a similar glider that cost 3 times the price..... A no-brainier for any slope nut!You should make the front stronger by aluminium and make the wings stronger with CF.
Best with SK3 2836 1500One of the best airplane I have ever bought. It costs less than the Bixler and it is way better. It comes with more than everything you need, folding prop and spinner, spinner for motorless flight, servo horn with screws, spars everywhere, plastic pieces to hold it together perfectly, wires, ecc... it's really amazing and it flies so good. When you want to land it seems that it never comes down. Bixler is only better for FPV.Great bit of kit, very cheap too. Being used as my FPV glider. It can house 2 x 3s lipo's (1 for plane & 1 for fpv kit) It can also house my fpv transmitter, osd & gps module along with a ubec too. i placed the camera on top of the canopy along with the cloverleaf aerial. despite the added weight it flies very well.Phoenix 1600 Review
I flew the Phoenix and was really satisfied at the performance and value of this airplane. It IS heavy but that is not a problem on our windy days. One thing to be careful of is the 44 gram weight (a piece of steel rod in a wooden box) hot glued to the nose of the glider. It can (and did) unstick itself from the fuselage and will make the glider tail heavy (this CG change results in an uncontrollable airplane!) when the weight slides to the back of the fuselage. I took out the 1300 MAH battery and substituted a 2200 lipo and adjusted the battery lock down velcro strap to correct the balance after removing the weight. You need the flaps to be connected as it glides forever when landing.The fastening wings is much more safe and durable, good HK!!!The Phoenix 1600 Kit. Nicely finished product. Everything fits together fine with the exception of the motor mount. I tried mounting the HK 2815-1050 only to discover the mounting holes thru the nylon were too far apart as were all the drilled disks supplied. All these needed to be enlarged for alignment with the mounting screw holes on the motor. Why? Lets work on quality control. The fuselage is the same length as the Phoenix 2000. With a little adjusting, I will have 2 sets of wings for this plane, the 1600mm set supplied plus the 2000mm from my old Phoenix 2000.large, for me 5 stars, big air, mounts quickly and threw themselves safe is good, stable, very docile and relaxed, just like in 2000! I would also recommend it for beginners.
