Ce planeur envergure 1600mm prend 15 minutes pour assembler et dure toute une vie! Les ailes et la queue sont fabriqués à partir de mousse EPO difficile. Cependant, le fuselage est fabriqué à partir d'un moulé par soufflage très forte peau en nylon avec gabarits de contreplaqué, ce qui rend presque indestructible. Habituellement réservé aux jouets pour bébés *. Le fuselage pratiquement indestructible est lisse et ridgid mais encore assez léger pour le planeur à effectuer. Tant l'aile principale et la queue sont vissées en place et les deux moitiés d'ailes ont une tige en fibre de carbone pour plus de solidité. L'aile principale comprend 1 servo par aileron pour fort mouvement de surface de contrôle, plus il y a une fente pré-moulé de sorte que vous pouvez ajouter vos propres volets plus tard. Tous les servos 4 9g, régulateur de vitesse et sans balais outrunner sont inclus. Il suffit d'ajouter votre propre récepteur et la batterie pour être prêt vol! Ceci est vraiment un planeur super fort qui prend 15 minutes pour mettre ensemble.

* Avoir un coup fuselage moulé sur un planeur est une excellente solution mais il est pas populaire parmi les fabricants en raison de son coût élevé, doublant ainsi les coûts de moulage.

Ein wirklich toller Flieger, abgesehen vom wirklich sehr günstigen Preis stimmt fast alles. Ich empfehle, den eingebauten Motor sammt Firewal gegen einen etwas robusteren auszuwechseln und dann mit 3S zu fliegen (z.B. Turnigy2836 brushless Outrunner 1200kv). Beachten: der Mitgelieferte Spinner ist für eine 3mm Welle. Ebenfalls sollten die Gabelköpfe gegen höherwertige ausgetauscht werden, da bei hohen Geschwindigkeiten doch relativ grosse Kräfte wirken. Auf die Landeklappen kann verzichtet werden da der Flieger auch bei sehr langsamem Flug unkritisch ist und keine Tendenz zum Strömungsabriss hatt. Rumpf und Flügel überstehen auch sehr harte Landungen, aus diesem Grund sehr gut auch für Anfänger geeignet. Mit 3s ist die Phönix aber sehr Flott unterwegs und macht auch fortgeschrittenen eine Menge Spass. Bei 3s 2'200 mAh-Lipo sollte der Balast unter dem Lipo-Halter entfernt werden.

Aside from some QC issues (2 servos dead) & the motor getting really hot - this is a great plane to fly. Dare I say this is a contender to some of those expensive "Warm liners" out there - sure this is cheaper construction,parts, etc; but the flight experience is damn good. Very stable in the air & easy to handle, yet responsive. Use a radio with a decent range as this is a big plane that can go a long way !
I used an 1800mah zippy compact 3S & needed to add around 25-30gr at the front to balance it out - so would probably suit a 2500mah 3S better. CG Marks under the wings are spot on.

First I was not really happy because of the lots of screws...
But now - one day after it's maiden flight - I'm really happy with this plane.
Flying well and also faster than I thought. The stock motor was changed into a bigger one (like Phoenix 2000) for flying with a 3S Lipo.

This really is a great glider. I am most impressed with it. As supplied its a bit of a dog, but as mentioned by others, activate the ESC brake, order an NTM 28 motor and install it while you are building the glider, dont bother with the original motor. I strap a camera to mine just on top of the wings and its great for aerial video. Climbs dives & turns at speed really well, does loops, will fly inverted, and will do (slow) rolls. I use 3S 1300mAh to 3S 3300mAh batteries and get 20 mins out of 2300mAh. Highly recommended!

Be careful, the motor in this kit is not the one which should fit this plane...it's way too small.
Mine heated and started to melt all the plastic around.
That's why the shaft is not fitting the prop properly too.

As far as speed, as long as the wing is screwed on tight and everything tied down, you can scream this thing around like a "poor man's" hot-liner (more like a "medium-liner). Again though...you should be careful with full throttle for too long a period of time (based on other posts I've read). We don't do a ton of acrobatics on ships like this simply because we are usually shooting video footage and/or doing FPV, so we don't really need huge rolls or other crazy stuff. That said, it rolls quite well for its wing span and loops are simple and nice and all that.

Received this from the West warehouse (Go West!!!...we're just over the Cascade mountains from the warehouse!).



Actually, me and my flying buddy each got one. Boxes were in mint condition as were the parts inside.



Kind of a pain installing all the control surface horns (I'm spoiled!), but I do recommend you use all 4 screws for each control horn and don't over tighten.

The pushrods for the ailerons and flaps seem sturdy enough so we used them.

Ditto on the pre-installed pushrods for elevator/rudder. In fact, the pushrods for elevator/rudder seem very well made and installed very sturdily (to me anyway).



Wing went together well, but we chose to further reinforce the wing center join with three strips of fiber tape (BEFORE putting on the plastic saddle thingey that comes with the kit). The saddle thing then goes onto our taped middle wing and then the wing goes on the fuse.



We chose to use servo "join" plugs to make the ailerons be considered "one" servo as well as the flaps to be considered "one" servo. This allowed us to easily extend the wiring from under the wing forward up to where the receiver sits (basically on top of the battery which is itself in the battery tray). One problem with this approach is that the wiring from the ailerons and flaps come into the fuselage right where the elevator/rudder servos are and this makes me nervous in terms of binding and all that. The good news is that the servo tray that the elevator/rudder sit in have two more holes dr

Today I raised it to the sky... Because of the plastic fuselaje it is a bit heavier, that makes this one quite a fast glider and therefore very responsive, I would not recomend this for begginers... Even with the battery pushed rearwood it was still to nose heavy. It is quite a rigid plane with no woobly wings, which is great!
But in the end you can have some great fun with it!
