i would highly recomend this model for a beginner...HOWEVER..as with all Dynam models i have bought, the elevator and rudder servos are RUBBISH, just order 2 quality servos and replace before attempting to fly...you. can fly on 3 or 4 s ok, but 4s makes for some awesome acrobatics, and it floats in nice for landings...only other mod i have done is fit bigger wheels and blocked the landing gear forward for soft grass landings.. my "go to" plane when i need to get the thumbs tuned in..great value.

Received this within in four days from the Aussie w/h to Brisbane super quick delivery. Went together quickly without issues. Only fault was the horizontal and vertical stabs were both warped and haven't been able to fix them with hot water. Braced them with carbon fibre rods which helped given HK don't have spares but Hobbyzone in Aussie do have parts for this so if my attempt fails I'll just order from those guys. Second issue I had was the speedy gave up after two flights as did the elevator and rudder servos. Replaced both with what i had hanging around. The plan is a great flyer and I really enjoy flying her. Not disappointed at all, well worth the money.

G'day Guys,
I picked up the Pitts during the recent July sales for a bargain $150 out of the Aussie stock. Delivery was fast and while the plane was double boxed (Original Dynam product box and HK heavy duty cardboard outer box) the packaging of this plane was a bit ordinary in my opinion. All parts were in bubble wrap bags, but were just loose in the box. (I have posted an unboxing vid to the Video tab).
There seems to be a common issue where the rudder is warped. I just bent it back by hand, just requires a careful set of hands. I've heard others uses a towel and hot water.Check the thread on RC Groups.
The paint felt a little chalky to me so I added a coat of oil based polyurethane. I used Carbothane by Cabots, available at Bunnings. The plane really comes up nice with the polyurethane.
I run mine stock with a selection of 4S 2200mAh batteries, all the way forward. Nanotech, Rhino and Zippy Compact. All in the 250g range, give or take 10g.
I set the timer to 6 minutes and land around the 5 minute warning. Batteries are usually around 30pcnt remaining.
I have 15 flights so far and this plane flies really well! You can cruise about very comfortably on half throttle or a little over. Burst a bit of throttle for vertical or a some aerobatics.

Cheers
Michael

This is a really great plane. It looks great, is light but solidly designed to handle the most radical maneuvers. It flies superbly and is capable of great aerobatics including 3D and yet is beautifully balanced and easy to land - highly recommended

5/5. This plane flies perfect out the box, no trim was required. The vert stab on mine was warped a little out the box, but it doesn't affect the flight. Still flies straight as an arrow. It is very aerobatic, I was using 60pcnt dual rates and the roll rate was still very fast. I was using a Turnigy 4s 2200mah 60C and the performance and vertical climb was excellent! My newest favourite plane. Cant wait for my second flight with this plane. Love it.

Got this bird as a Santa gift but only able to build in the last couple of weeks. QA on the box was low as missing parts such as the lugs to fix the vertical stabiliser to the fuse and the tail support struts. The screws was a mixed bag that didn't seem to conform. Unfortunately didn't check this out until started the build. The ESC didn't want to allow binging so alternative 60a went in. However with some help from another online store for parts I got this bird built and in the air. All stock flew beautifully and even made me look good. Only problem was the grass landings. Put bigger 2inch rubber wheels on to help but the small screws for the landing gear didn't hold very well. That nose over also pulled the motor lose. As the cowling seems to be glued, looks like some surgery before I go up again. Forums do mention checking the motor mount for lose screws too. Even with QA issues this is still a wonderful plane to fly.

Well so,far this has been a disappointment. I have been looking forward to opening this box since it arrived but had to wait since this was a Christmas present. Found that there were missing parts from the verticals stabiliser (for the screws to screw into) and have been informed by HK that it may take up to 3 months to supply them. Not impressed with the service. Will look at alternative options to fix in the meantime.

This plane is a great little flyer. I am just beginning to have a go at 3D flying. It hovers, knife edges, spins, rolls & anything else you seem to throw at it. It makes me look good at flying. What more could you want? I put 75mm wheels on her and bent the landing gear bracket forward as it tended to nose over on grass. You can do a very slow fly by which makes landing quite easy. This is my favourite plane and also looks great in the air. Many people comment on her and she can even handle a bit of wind. Recommend this plane to anyone.

Awesome plane - fantastic looking and flys very very well. Crisp response and very aerobatic, easy take off and landing and plenty of grunt with 4S for huge vertical, hovering, knife edge, roll, big, big loops etc etc.

I did however change the wheels to bigger ones for grass, changed all servos for higher torque MG ones as the stock ones are not reliable or strong enough, stiffened up the control rods in the tail section with carbon too much flex) and did most of the mods at the Rcgroups thread to improve relaibility and performance (I didnt bother to strengthen motor mount or LG yet as mine seem fine...so far!).
