The gimbal I have received has a different controller with Brugi software not Alexmos.
The controller is small and rectangular not square as shown in photos.
Motors I have received have a hollow axle, a very good thing that allow cables to pass trhough.
I have changed almost all the 1/4 bolts with other 1/4 bolts for cameras that you can find here on HobbyKing website , product id 450000247-0 and 450000248-0
It is a pity that this product do not show anymore on Quanum website so youi will not find any manual.
The cnc alluminium parts are high quality.
Roll command do not work.
A reduced weight is the reason for my purchase.
I was able after a new 4mm carbon bracket to mount a 900 grams camera .
If you have a Nex 5 or 6 , I think it is good choice.
Motors have one side 2,5mm bolts, that is really too little.
No software setup was needed with cameras of Nex5 weight.
HobbyKing please update the product photos.caution!!! I ordered this gimbal and they sent me a gimbal holybro !!
I tried to protest and say that I ordered another gimbal but it was not possible to solve the problemSo i have been looking at this gimbal for a while now and I went ahead with the purchase based on the infomation that I since have discovered has been omitted form the product description, that which was a 32mit Alexmos "based" bgc. Received in lightning speed buy DHL but as some of you have discovered, now comes with some ****py no named peice of **** gimbal controler configerable apparently by BruGI......Fist plugged in with balanced camera and WOW just what I expected...a jittering piece of ****. Hobbyking you need to fire you product manager...this is unacceptable, i can handle a alexmos based setup but this is criminal. NO INFOMATION WHAT SO EVER on gimbal type or fimware version. HOW ABOUT YOU SEND US ALL A WORKABLE GIMBAL CONTOLLER!!!!! SHAME ON YOUFor me it's good value for price I've payd for it. Already made some pictures using my Canon M model camera with very good quality. I was using two channels from my Futaba J8 for tilt and shooter. So I could fly and make some pictures as well. I didn't go in to settings yet but as for me works very good untill camera sits with a good balance in the gimbal mount. When I've fit additional FPV camera in to flash light point loose balance and glmbal was vibrating during flight. Even obce it has turned back 180.good quality of hardware

no updates about this or updates un wev :(This is a fine gimbal for the price but there are some things to consider before buying.
First the wire connected to the sensor below the camera si quite fragile and you should put some shrink tube around the section that goes through the roll motor.
Second the software to configure it is BruGi and not SimpleBGC. The parameters are hard to find (I had two of these gimbals and one had the motors inverted and the other one not). When I save a parameter file with BruGi and load it I get an error so it is not as practical as SimpleBGC. SimpleBGC offers an automatic pole counter while in BruGi I don't even see an option to set the number of poles for the motors.
For the pros
-It is well designed to allow a fine balance of the camera
-The controler board is not as in the picture but fits perfectly behind the vertical plate.
I recommand for taking pictures but not for video shooting as it is really hard to get the gmbal steady.
Unit is well built but there is no software to change the parameters so being well built has no value
why does HK not make software available without it this is only useful as a door stop
so this product failed to work because there is no software to set it up
the controller PCB is different on different shipments so bewareI found the documentation to be very poor. There is a guide to assemble the vibration mount and nothing else. The motors are hard wired to the control board and that may be the reason the board cannot be flashed with newer firm wear. It took me quite a while to get it sorted out. You need to have the camera mounted and balanced before powering. I had problems getting the roll RC channel to function. Better documentation could make this a wonderful product. The price point is outstanding. I do not like the phillips head screws used to mount things to the motors. I replaced them and I will be adding quick connects for the motors. The price is right.Got mine yesterday. The build with carbonfibre looks good and its almost fully assembled.
After some fiddling with the power and PID:s in the pitch axel it seems to balance my Panasonic Lumix GF3 well.
Now I have to mount it to my hexa to see how it behaves when it gets airborne. :-)
